Zone1 Does anyone think we need to keep the current military model of lowering physical performance standards for women?

Currently, for pretty much all run, carry, push-up, swim, etc tests, women aren’t held to the same standard as men.

Pete Hegseth said he wants to make it equal for all. I say touché. Does anyone on here actually back the leftist woke demand for unequal standards to get more women into the military?

Make the standard for the military specialty, not the sex.

Even men in the service classes don't need to meet the same requirements as infantry, armor and artillery.

If they're going to do that then they need to divide combat groups into skill levels reflecting their capabilities.

I'd rather have an Italian of 6'2 235 lb physically fit males coming to the rescue than a mixed battalion of men and women half of whom couldn't even carry another person off the field.

Women can be good soldiers and sailors, albeit in restricted roles. There is no need for a Finance Officer to be able to carry someone 100 yards in less than 20 seconds.

But the standard for combat arms positions (just as for firefighters, police, etc. in the other public sector) should never be compromised.

Nor should intellectual requirements, for that matter.

Bingo .... This is not brain surgery

I agree. There needs to be two fitness/strength standards, one for non-battlefield and one for the battlefield ready.

Sexist! Homophobe!

Nor should they be. I thought we had established that women are not men.

Yes and no. If you want to serve in a forward combat-ready position, then the standard must be the standard. I believe there ARE a few women who can hold their own with most guys. But if you are only going to be in a tactical support position in the rear which is not as physical and demanding, then sure, why not have an appropriately lower standard for the gals so that they too can serve their countries in some way?

Again, how would you make up for less recruits available?

You call up the ones that were kicked out for not getting the COVID vaccine for starters… and apologize to them while they’re at it.
I am pretty sure they have move on. What else? Women make up nearly 20% of the armed forces.

Not totally accurate. Ranger school, for example: same standards.

Should.probably just depend on specialization.
If true, the exception doesn’t make the rule. Army, Navy, Coast Guard, Marines all have different standards.

I’d say “Nice try” to derail things, but it wasn’t

But you disagree with the current woke military standards?

Its been what four years? If they haven't gotten a job in four years we don't want them.
In one post You’re begging for soldiers and the next you say this?

Doesn’t seem like you have a position, and you did indeed just make it up

I heard CNN is hiring, you’d be great

Anyone entering the military takes a mental aptitude test to gauge your smarts, in order to see what specialty to assign you to. Physical aptitude between men and women is a no brainer.

A no brainer in what regard?
