Last month they bragged about creating hundreds of thousands of jobs but the labor participation rate continues to decline. Most of those new jobs were second jobs for people wanting to make ends meet as they are hammered by record inflation.

Why wouldn't they lie about this since they lie about everything else?

That's not true.... The Household survey only counts primary employment. And people have been working second jobs since forever.

Why wouldn't they lie about this since they lie about everything else?

Here's the better question, why do you guys only believe these numbers when Republicans are in charge.

Here's the problem with the overall numbers. Right now, Baby Boomers are retiring at a rate of 360,000 a month and have been since 2011, when the unemployment rate started dropping. There are not enough Millenials to replace them, and even if there were, they don't have the talent level or expertise to replace a Boomer with 40 years of work experience.

Some people HAVE dropped out of the work pool, mostly younger mothers who realize that it's more cost effective to do a menial work at home job than it is to go out for a job, and then most of that goes to day care.

And of course, when a million people die of Trump Plague, that's going to put a dent in the workforce.

3.5% is the lowest it ever gets, because at any given time, you are going to have 3.5% between jobs.
