Sorry, but I was bored to tears when this was on Fox News. I guess they have to cover it because the other news stations do but geeze.. All this hoopla for what..? She is dead already.

And frankly, I don't know one thing she really accomplished save just being an heir to the throne. And Fox didn't inform us of any accomplishments either, which, you'd think if they were going to cover this story, they would at least do that.

I just see someone living in opulence while the "subjects" don't.. big deal.

And I'm still ticked at England for throwing out Catholicism (of course, today, the Catholic Church is ditch-worthy but that's beside my point bc in the days of King Henry VIII, the Church actually did what it was supposed to, namely told Henry VIII he couldn't get a divorce and marry [the soon to be head-less] Anne Boleyn

Not a fig.
so do u care about the strange story of Henry VIII and how he had a temper tantrum and ditched the Catholic Church and started beheading anyone who didn't think HE was the new head of (what he called) the church of England?

I do care about the new king, saw the Fox special on him and started liking him whereas b4 I didn't know a damn thing about him. I do sympathize w/ the loss of his mother and the loss of the 2 boys' grandmother. But I just don't get why the queen and others have to live in such opulence. By the way, is there a big homeless problem in England?

I just don't know much about other countries. It's all I can do to keep up with the US :uhoh3:

burp, nope.

Say what you will about the Brits, but they DO know how to retain and celebrate tradition. In a world where tradition is being destroyed wholesale, I think it's good to remember that it holds the world together in many ways.

she is getting more coverage than famous Americans who have passed and they did something for this country.....
yeh, and if she indeed neglected to invite Trump &/or had some animus against him

I say she is burning in Hell.. I mean, Trump did so many good things for this country and if she didn't appreciate those things.. well, who knows? Maybe she was as against the US as Putin and XI

I watched it. I remember her coronation on our grainy black and white. It was the grandest thing I ever saw.

The funeral ranks right up there with the state funeral California gave to Tookie Williams who was executed on death row.

yeh, I agree, despite my distaste for all that opulence while I'm sure some brits still live in poverty?

I don't know much about england.. just its history, which is awful if you go back far enough, to when the King was chopping off the heads of all the people who had sense.. from Bishop Fisher to Thomas More (both now canonized saints).

the history kind of detracts from the tradition you and I both appreciate.. just saying

The American left cares about it.. They love British royalty because they perceive themselves as being above the rest of we lowly serfs.
