Do you think Business will start moving out of England?

The referendum was non-binding as I read. Even a blind pig finds an acorn once in awhile.
That's true, personally I suspect BREXIT will happen but that the U.K. will remain (in some form) in the EFTA, similar to the situation in Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein .

It would be too politically risky for MP's to vote against completing the exit from the EU given the referendum results and the extremely high turnout.

They are already saying there should be another vote because this one was so close. If Obama had won the popular vote by the same margin the left would be crowing about the mandate he was handed. Isn't that exactly what they said about the 2012 outcome?
No surprise there, the gub'mint worshipers generally contest the results of elections that don't go their way, apparently they love democracy but only when the voters do as they want. :D

In this case, the vote really wasn't that close since if I'm not mistaken it was 52% to 48% for leaving and the turnout was the highest in any nation wide election (72% or so) since 1992 so I don't think the "remain" side has much of a leg to stand on for a "re-vote".

How many people have called for a new referendum? Like one or two people.

London (CNN)An online petition signed by more than 3.5 million people calling for a second referendum on whether Britain should leave the EU was started by a Leave campaigner who says it has been "hijacked" by unhappy Remain voters.

So...... online petitions don't often mean much.

Nothing is going to change. This is just fear mongering by the establishment. The establishment and the new world order took a big hit with this vote, and they don't like it. So every downturn in the economy will be blamed on the English people choosing freedom from the globalists.

The reason for the vote to go the way it went is because of what is going on in Britain. The economy is going into the dumper and the invasion that they can't control is out of control.

But now it will all be blamed on a vote for freedom.

And the story goes on. "We don't like what you said, so it's scaremongering"

Yeah, sure, the pound will never drop low after Brexit, it's scaremongering. But it happened. Still scaremongering.

And who controls the price of a pound and the markets? Yep, those who are invested in the status quo. Who voted against the establishment? Those hurt the most by the establishment.

The control of the pound doesn't actually belong to anyone. Individuals or businesses can have a major impact. When the pound dropped, the UK markets weren't even open. Why did they drop? Because people suddenly started selling pounds. Why? Because they believed it wasn't worth their while holding on to pounds.

England will be just fine in control of the country again. The EU may collapse instead.

This is hilarious.

I saw on the news this morning that right after the vote, the two most common Goggle searches in England were:

1. What is Brexit?

2. What is the EU?

No shit. Not a joke.

UK Treasury chief tries to calm fears over 'Brexit' fallout

LONDON — Britain’s Treasury chief sought Monday to ease concerns about the vote to leave the European Union, saying the economy is as strong as it could be to face the uncertainty — even as a survey showed many companies are looking to move business out of the country.

The pound hit a new 31-year record low, dropping another 3.3 percent to $1.3227. Stock markets also declined across Europe.

Osborne pledged not to impose a new austerity budget — even though he said during the campaign that one would be necessary if voters chose to leave the EU. He said another budget would be the task of Cameron’s successor.

What else will change once England leaves?

England will now have tariffs on it's goods.

Raw material will cost more. Of course these things will cost jobs.

People will need passports to visit other countries in Europe.

They will no longer be able to live anywhere they want in Europe.

Their movement and where they live will be restricted. England will no longer get EU dollars for science and research. It's scientists will no longer be able to move about Europe without permission.

And Scotland and Wales are talking about dissolving an agreement they've had for 300 years. That could mean that the English will need a passport to visit those countries.

Remember what Conservatives did to this country under Bush?
Brexit Revealed the Always on the Make, Money-Grubbing Grifter That is Donald Trump
Quite a few banks are have already initiated the movement of some of their operations out of the UK because of Brexit.

Banks begin moving some operations out of Britain - FT.com

Investment banks, who donated heavily to the Remain campaign, have reacted immediately to Britain’s referendum result, with some of London’s largest institutions approaching regulators to secure licences and lining up executives to relocate.

The big US banks — JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, Citigroup and Morgan Stanley — have large operations employing tens of thousands of people in the UK. They have historically set up their regulated businesses in Britain and then used its right to “passport” into the rest of the 28-member bloc.

The US banks, therefore, are already preparing for the contingency that the right to sell financial products and services from Britain to EU clients could be partially or entirely abolished.

“We’ll get on with it,” said a senior executive at one large US bank. “We’ve started to think about how we put people in our existing offices and entities in Europe. We are already rebalancing our footprint.”

You are living in some alternative world. Someone causes the pound to fall immediately. Just as their credit rating was immediately dropped, when in reality nothing has happened in the way of the Brits leaving the EU, at least not yet.

This is just more of the globalists and establishment whining to get their way.

Someone? Just one person? I think you need to understand how these things work.

Credit Ratings are done by credit rating agencies. There are three big ones.

Ratings agencies downgrade UK credit rating after Brexit vote - BBC News

S&P decided to put the UK's credit rating down. It was the only one that actually had the UK as AAA

Fitch also did this. Moodys also did this.

The UK KNEW this would happen if they voted to leave.
Not one company did this, but three. So predictable it's incredible.

Nothing happened physically. What happened was mental. People suddenly saw a problem.

Imagine. You have 10 million pounds. You want to invest in a country to turn your 10 million into 100 million. DO you go to the USA or do you go to Somalia? You can choose.

Just like Americans can choose whether to go to the UK or another EU country. Just like the Japanese, the Chinese and everyone else can make this choice.

You'd choose the USA over Somalia any day, for obvious reasons. And now many investors are choosing to leave the EU for obvious reasons.

The UK knew this. Don't try and play the victim here.

Maybe, does it matter? A lot of people are seeing what's happening and wondering why anyone would want to inflict self harm on themselves.

The biggest problem the UK has, is that since 1976 they have been totally dependent on the 27 member countries aka the EU. The UK is a consumer country and I can't think of a thing that it manufactures, drills for, or grows. No agriculture or farming, no energy that isn't shared with other member countries, so I doubt they'll be any tariffs placed. Even France, has control over their electricity, so they can turn on and off their lights whenever they want too.

They are in no way like the United States, where we can give the world the middle finger, and we would still eat and have energy to heat our homes. But that's why the EU was formed in the first place. To be be able to compete with the U.S.

When our dollar goes down, our exports take off to pull in the slack. The pound is getting pounded meaning that UK citizens will be paying a lot more for every day necessities. This means inflation. This definitely isn't going to go over easy, it's just the start.

As far as business's leaving the U.K. If it gets bad for them, they are going to move where business is better. When they move they normally don't take their employees with them. It's not rocket science.

The UK has shared health care and education costs with 27 other countries. Now UK citizens living in one of the member countries will be chased back home to forge for themselves. They've opened quite a can of worms. This means austerity eventually, to lower government spending, even though their requirements for spending on health care and education, and now border control will be more.

I think this was a knee jerk protest vote, that the citizens of the UK did. They didn't pay attention to the consequences of such action, and I believe they'll soon be regretting that vote. While I understand that every nation should be self reliant, and deserve their sovereignty, they certainly didn't plan in advance for this.

I expect a pretty good train wreck out of this one.

No agriculture? Are you kidding me? There ARE problems with agriculture and the French used the EU to get a powerful position for their own agriculture, however for a country 4/5ths the size of Idaho, it does have agriculture.

That's the point. France an EU member is growing food for the UK. If France wants to cut off the electricity to the UK they can--they have the switch. It's doesn't matter if you buy energy stocks on the exchange if you don't pay your bill--the meter gets pulled.

The problem is that the UK has been totally dependent on 27 other nations for necessities, that they cannot provide or haven't provided since 1976. The pound is lower, meaning more pounds are required to buy necessities, meaning higher inflation, meaning higher costs of necessities. Which turns into a very vicious economic downward cycle.

The UK grows food for France too. France can't turn the electricity off if they want.

The Big Six Energy Companies - Find the cheapest!

The biggest is British Gas.
EDF energy is owned by the French government. They serve 5.6 million people.
E.ON is Germany. They have 26 million customers.
Npower is German
Scottish Power is Scottish
SSE is Scottish too.

But this is something essential we're talking about here. If one of these companies were to turn off the electricity, not only would they lose a lot of money which they'd not be willing to lose, but the British government could simply take their stuff and nationalise it in the name of national interest. These companies know this.

Yes, the economy will go down. The Brexit people called this "scaremongering", now it's happening people are getting scared. Johnson wants the PM job before people have called his bluff, by October he could be a pariah.

If you're American, it's your business. The UK is the US's Robin when going around invading people. If the UK can't afford to do it, you're on your own.

Is it the UK, or Canada's business what we do with our economic system?

What the people of the UK choose to do is their decision, who I am to tell them they're wrong? We'd get pissed if another nation came and told us what to do (and we do all of the time).

Bush sold America a bill of goods and we were suckers for believing him.

Republicans are walking with eyes wide open into an even worse scam than what happened under Bush.
