I too have heard it was a plea for peace during the CMC. The king character seems to just be some generic wise man, not referencing any specific historic person.

Comedy aside, I think people are reading too deeply into these songs and need to just take and enjoy them at face value.

Yep. It is all the same. I guess you could say that Jesus was just a plenary portion of God in human form so that he people could better relate to him.
