How much of our own money should they let us keep?
The exact same amount as everyone else.

Right now, because of tax expenditures, two people earning identical incomes are paying radically different amounts of tax, based on how much they behave the way the government wants them to behave.

That's seriously fucked up.

And your tax rates are higher. Every penny in deductions, exemptions, and credits has to be made up for by someone else. They come out of someone else's pocket, just like food stamps. Except tax expenditures add up to TWICE as much as we spend on welfare.

Making up the cost of tax expenditures is achieved by raising tax rates and heavy borrowing.

Get rid of them, and everyone will have a lower tax rate, and they will all be on a level playing field.

So just to be clear, ALL monies belong to the Gov (even though WE must work for it) and we are to be thankful for whatever hey let us keep?

Here's a simple explanation of how you are being robbed by tax expenditures.

You think the mortgage interest deduction is "I get to keep more of my own money!"?

Nope. The MID is rolled into the cost of your house. You are paying more for your house because of the MID.

Not only that, to make up the loss of $80 billion in revenue caused by the MID, tax rates have to be higher on everyone. So your deduction is coming out of higher taxes! What a sap you are!

Now, if you aren't really coming out ahead with the MID, who is?

Well, who benefits from higher home prices?

Realtors. Lenders. Brokers.

So there you go, suckers. The MID is a massive wealth transfer scheme from your pockets UP the food chain.

Nope. Try again, sap.

Your deductions come out of other people's pockets, including your own. You are leeching off others and yourself in order to transfer wealth up the food chain.

Do you believe that civil rights needs more attention, or it already have had enough and it's time to move on?

Why/why not?

I believe in CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS, ie, Life, Liberty, Property and to pursue happiness.

.

You know those are from the Declaration of Independence don't you? Well except the property bit.

http://www.constitution.org/us_doi.pdf

The Constitution seeks to promote the General Welfare, Peace, and Tranquility. It lays down the basis for all other laws governing the people of the United States.

Civil Rights are normally associated with the Bill of Rights, or if you prefer the Amendments to the Constitution. Freedom of Speech and the right to keep and bear arms are two.

Edit to fix typo.

The saps are only told one side of the tax equation. They are deliberately kept in the dark about the FULL equation.

I prefer sleeves to bare arms.

We had slavery under the Constitution. So stop evading the question with your sophomoric bullshit.

Wow, what part of the Amendment process do you liberal morons not understand.

Nor do you understand it was the Democrats that were for slavery.

LOL, so....the more of MY money that I get to keep comes from.......you.
That's quite a stretch son.
The flaw in your premise is that you believe that ALL Gov spending is justified and that they are justified in raising taxes as much as they want simply because they want to spend more.
You really haven't thought any of this through.

Concentrate....IF you think that tax deductions are Gov expenditures then by logical extension ALL money must FIRST be theirs.....

Then where is BLM regarding black on black murders. The silence in the inner cities on that issue is deafening. The group doesn't want any honest discussion as that might take self reflection instead of deflection. Do all lives matter to BLM. So far their actions and rhetoric would prove otherwise.
The same place you are regarding white on white murders.
Proved my point. Deflection.
By the way I am for the death penalty for any white who murders and agree with Dylan Roofs penalty and feel it should take place immediately. Your assumption fails.

TPS, you are only telling part of the full political story.

Northern democrats and northern whigs defended slavery as did know nothings until the later 1850s. Republican business interests piled millions upon millions into the cotton industry. Let's keep this in context.

And, when the CSA fired on Ft Sumter, the support of the northern Dems allowed Lincoln the political weight to call out the militias, which lied to the secession of the Upper South.

And, of course, the great majority of Dems (and Pubs) in the House and Senate voted for the CRA and the VRA in 1964 and 1965.

Your logic is off, doc. Tax deductions are granted by Congressional law. No logical extension can conclude that the money was the government's in the first place.

No, logic says that if a Tax Deduction is a Gov expenditure, by extension the money must be theirs to spend.

Let's stop hijacking this civil right thread and move this conversation over here: End income tax

Do you believe that civil rights needs more attention, or it already have had enough and it's time to move on?

Why/why not?

I don't support the concept of special rights disguised as civil rights as applied today.
