Prove that Trump will not support NATO's Article-5. Trump said that he would not defend any nation that does not meet their NATO commitment for defense spending. Stoltenberg thanked Trump for getting members to increase their defense spending.Putin was dumb enough to launch the largest war in Europe since World War II. Estonia and Latvia are also former Republics of the Soviet Union like Ukraine. There are even more ethnic Russians in Estonia and Latvia than in Ukraine as a percentage of the population. All of the same reasoning for war Putin used in Ukraine could be used to take territory in Estonia and Latvia where ethnic Russians live. Estonia and Latvia are NATO members. Russian invasion there leads to World War III which increases the probability of Nuclear War. That situation is far less likely to happen if Ukraine survives intact with its military and most of its territory. Ever since 1949, the United States has regarded any attack on NATO territory to be an attack on United States territory. That is until Trump became President. Now that deterrent factor has been weakened by Trump as well Trump's help for Putin diplomatically as well as throwing Ukraine under the bus for 10 days by cutting of aid and intelligence information.
The EU countries need to step up more to defend Ukraine, the US is tapped out, we've done more than our share.
Extending NATO's Article 5 to Ukraine would test Russia’s peace intentions, Meloni says

Secretary General thanks President Trump for his commitment to NATO

Maybe you haven't noticed, but Russia's 3-day war is now over 3-years old with no end in sight. The simplest way to end the war is to starve Putin of cash by boycotting Russian oil. Putin's "Shadow Fleet" keeps him supplied with cash to fund the war. If Trump can enforce the boycott with sanctions and tariffs, that will force Putin to take a peace deal. Trump told EU countries to stop buying Russian energy. No way Putin would invade any NATO country, his 2nd rate military is depleted. In addition, I should mention that at the current time, Ukraine has the largest military force in all of Europe and is essentially defending Europe and the world from the Russian threat. If Ukraine is suddenly defeated, Europe and the United States may not be ready to defend NATO's eastern flank which would encourage Putin to invade immediately with Ukraine out of the way.
