Zone1 Do You Agree With Pet shops?

I don't. I don't think that a price tag should go on a life and adoption fees are different. You wouldn't sell your child and buy one would you so why would you buy a pet when you can easily adopt one (or multiple) that needs a home?

I haven't been in one in decades because all the birds like me for some reason.

I had a pet shop owner yell at me because this parrot wouldn't get off my shoulder...I turned so the bird was close to him & said "take it"...he tried & the bird (cocatoo) walked to my other shoulder. He thought he was going to ride me to freedom!

There's a pet shop in the mall. They have display windows with puppies for sale. The average sale price is $4000 bucks! What the pup???

We had a bad feral cat infestation in the immediate neighborhood. Multiple batches of kittens were born exacerbating the situation. She finally found a rescue that stepped in and helped. The kittens ended up at Petsmarts to be adopted.

My Mocha (My Pittie) was adopted. I would never buy a dog/cat or any pets from a Pet store. I agree, you never put a price on pets.

I think Pet shops should just sell pet food, treats and toys. That's all.

Does PetSmart actually do real adoptions though? Or are you sold your new family member or family members instead of adopting them?

We get wild turkeys all the time around here. I'm pretty sure that I've even posted pictures of them before in photography.
