I'm just curious because I said that I thought that the only proper way to deal with Iran would be to eliminate them off the map since they are a threat to The US and Israel and somebody else implied that I was acting like Hitler. So, I was just curious what everybody on here thought of this idea as I find it to be totally stupid.

Your mistake (If I may) is that you do not separate Iranians from the Mullahs and the IRGC. I am all for wiping out the Mullahs (which we almost did) and the IRGC (which we have not).

IMO, Trump is holding all the cards in that, he can continue to strangle the Mullahs by denying them oil revenue and destroying their economy. Yes, it will put a burden on the Iranian populace however, sooner or later there will be no money left to arm the IRGC. We can keep our foot on their neck for a LOOOONG time.....OR.....They can give us all the nuclear dust and agree to unfettered inspections with a negotiated deal. Of course we can bomb the place and try not to kill innocent civilians but, that would be a last resort.

First, most of the Iranian people want out from under that regeime. If they were they would probably be one of our best allies anyways. Far better than the Saudis or the Emerates

Yes and the IRGC hides behind all those good people. They put military complexes below hospitals and schools, etc. IMO the only solution is to keep a knee on their economic neck until the Mullahs can no longer afford to arm and fund the IRGC. Surgical bombing obvious military installments, maybe even take out a reactor might be possible with less collateral damage.
