It is rather interesting to hear and read from republicans that they've become the party of "diversity" since the (once crowded) posse of primaries' candidates boasted diverse ethnicity........Well, that prompted me to look up at those dreaded facts that right wingers seem to dislike so much.
Based on the 114th congress:
There are 88 women in the House......Of those, 65 are (D) and 23 are (R)
There are 20 women in the Senate....Of those, 14 are (D) and 6 are (R)
There are 46 blacks in the House...Of those, 44 are (D) and 2 are (R)
There are 2 blacks in the Senate...Of those 1 is (D) and 1 is (R)
Diversity within the GOP still has to be proven......
