1) He had the Department of Health not only talk about covid but to warn people that it was flu season and to get their health checked out by doctors as a public message
2) He put out a mask wearing policy--oh the horror
3) He also consulted with viralogists but then he didn't keep them on the payroll--------which means that they couldn't collect big cushy checks for well not telling us anything that we didn't know. Damn him
4) And oh my gawd, Florida with all of its OLD people--------that damn desantis focused on a policy of protecting them by keeping the virus out of nursing homes and retirement communities instead of doing the dem governor thing of purposely infected nursing with covid patients like Cuomo and Whitmer killing thousands of people. This would explain why despite all of Florida's elderly that Florida didn't see the death kills that New York had---that fucking desantis, he should have purposely infected the old and killed them off. The dems sure could have called this a crisis---and demanded more money from the federal government.

There was nothing specific said one way or the other.
And clearly people do have many false beliefs based on propaganda instead of fact, so likely discussion should be avoided at all levels but from the top.

The reality is that flattening the curve can't work to end any epidemic, and never has.
So then all it does is stretch out the duration of an epidemic, by preventing the burn out spike.
That ends up killing over 10 times as many people in the long run.

We're talking about what they knew THEN, when the death numbers were very low, and what they have known now for six months.
DiSantis has opened the state up with no restrictions even though there are now 277,000 dead, with Florida being ranked 3rd in the country for cases and deaths.
Republicans don't care about country. Just money.

There are only 2 known strategies for ending any epidemic.
They are full quarantine or herd immunity.
A partial lock down is neither, and would just increase the death total in the long run.
Flattening the curve is murder.
It prevents a quick spike from burning the epidemic out and ending it quickly.
Historically ALL epidemics that have set in, have been only ended by a herd immunity burn out spike.
Nothing else.
Nothing else CAN ever work.
Vaccines take too long, and have their own risks if rushed.
