Actually, If I had to guess, I'd be willing to say that AIDS wasn't necessarily an invented virus, just one that stuck around long enough to find a host that they could exploit.

I also don't think that the bird flu was an invented virus either.

And......................Ebola (which is a virus) has been around for a long time. I'm 50 years old and can remember when Ebola was thrown around as a scary disease, because it was from a land far away (Africa), and had no known cases that sprouted in the U.S. until now.

Kinda sad that the big pharma companies don't want to help until it becomes economically viable for them to do so.

Hopefully, they are the ones taken out first for not wanting to find a cure.

The black plague may or may not have originated in China..but it made its way to Europe via China.

As for ebola, it may have originated a million years ago just laying dormant waiting to be re discovered via a unearthing project or a flood to Un earth it and find a viable host.

The problem with viruses, such as ebola is that it may mutant or find another way to find a new host, which is why it is so crucial to get it under control and quarantine it before this happens. In this day and age a virus outbreak anywhere is a threat to everyone, everywhere. Hopefully we learn this lesson before something even worse happens.
