Democrats want families earning $500,000 to keep getting Obamacare subsidies!

Stupid lying Stain. UpChuck was asking for $1.5T to pay for "it"? What is "it"? Free Healthcare for 1378% of poverty line (per Mac) forever?

When you go begging for $1.5T, you better spell out exactly what it's for you dumb OXYEN herd.
They have, I’m sorry you’re not smart enough to recognize that.

Dude, your cult thanks your for your ignorance. They eliminated the cap on income in 2022.

And the way he talks about us saying “they” - as if we can’t read - is arrogance personified.

Ignorance and arrogance is a dangerous combination.

You can understand why Republicans need to lie to their constituents. Are they really too stupid to get it?
Why do leftards LIE all the time? Those were TEMPORARY expansions of subsidies for COVID.

And 5 million won’t lose the coverage. They’ll just have to pay based on the schedule Obama devised: eligible for welfare assistance…..oops, subsidies…..if they make 400% of poverty level or less.

Are you saying that the schedule Obama devised was unaffordable? We’re just going back to what he jammed down our throats

Ignorance, arrogance, condescension and pretension - it's all they got.

Got it. "Immigrant" given free ACA so they could show what a success it was. smh.

So you get off the boat, 1st thing you rush to get health care at $800/mo with no job, no money, no home? Pre-existing? Why not get it treated in China?

The whole thing stinks like Stain BS.

Except she had a job.

And frankly, I agree, the $800 a month was ridiculous, but you should probably take that up with big insurance.

This thread deserves more attention.

The OP is so upset that a high income family MIGHT get $8000 in a subsidy. Sure.

But without expanding the subsidies, next year a family of 5 making a dollar over 400% FPL gets ZERO subsidy. If that family of 5 makes anything more than about $38k, they get ZERO subsidy for their premium, which according to the OP is $50k.

So is that good for working class Americans?

That just shows what a disaster Obamacare is. Obama forced us into a program where insurance is now so overpriced it costs a family of five $50,000.

Subsidized insurance means insurance skyrockets,

It’s $50k in that one very specific market.

It’s half that in my market.

ACA didnt cause healthcare costs to go up and Republicans have no plan to bring them down anyway. (Millions of uninsured will undoubtedly cause costs to go up for the insured as they are forced to take the load for unreimbursed care).

So tell me, if Republicans care so much for the working class, why they think that a family of 5 making $37k a year should get no subsidy for their health insurance?

Of course it caused insurance to go up. The more government subsidizes something, the higher the price.

Who says a family of five making $37K won’t get a subsidy? A family of ONE gets a subsidy at that level!

You really are clueless.

Upon expiration of the expanded ACA subsidies, which you want, no one making over 400% of federal poverty level gets a subsidy.

A single person gets zero subsidy if they make over $16k.

It doesn’t seem like you know much about the ACA, which is okay since it’s complex legislation.

SORRY I SCREWED UP.

I was was using straight FPL. Multiple everything by 4.

I messed up. Sorry.

Let me restate.

A family of 5 hits 400% FPL at $150k. So they get zero subsidy as soon as they hit that level.

You’re an idiot.

The federal poverty line is $16k. People get subsidies up to 400% of that. Thus, 16 x 4 =64.

People earning as high as $64,000 get a subsidy.

It doesn’t seem as if you passed 4th grade math.

Anyway, you’ve proven by your last post that you are so uninformed about the ACA that any further discussion would be a waste of my time. Do a little research, learn how subsidies work, and then maybe we’ll talk.

Yeah, I messed up.

The overall point here is that the subsidy cliff is bad policy.

A person making a dollar over that 400% mark gets nothing. Does that make sense?

15th post
In this example, a family of 5 making $150,600 gets a $37,000 subsidy and a family of 5 making $150,601 gets $0.

It’s bad policy.

OK….typed out my last response while you were correcting your error

If we revert to the pre-COVID level, that means that a family of five earning as much as $150,000 gets welfare assistance?! Wow.

So Obamacare created a system where the upper-middle class gets welfare subsidies, and you’re not satisfied with that? You want MORE people on welfare with Obama’s scheme to drive insurance up to such skyhigh levels that the majority of Americans can’t afford it on their own?

You are demonstrating why Democrat Socialism is a disaster.

Sure. Before Obamacare, a person earning $64k could afford a $500 a month plan, which is all it used to cost - and for a much superior plan.

Now the plans cost double that, with triple the deductible, and narrow provider networks.
