Democrats want families earning $500,000 to keep getting Obamacare subsidies!

Then what’s the problem? An individual earning more than $64,000 can pay $500 a month. Why are Democrats insisting taxpayers maintain the subsidy expansion?
A person making $64,000 would have an expected contribution of $450 and the subsidy would be $50 a month.

I can guarantee you that person is paying more in taxes than they’re getting back.

You seem really fixated on people above 400% FPL, who make up only 7% of marketplace shoppers and generally get little to no tax credit anyway. The overwhelming majority of the enhanced tax credits go toward helping low and middle class families under 400% FPL better afford their coverage.

You’re wrong. You know NOTHING.

My plan did not have any specialists in network. It was a clever “out” that Obamacare allowed - they said pre-existing conditions were not excluded, but they allowed insurance companies to exclude having any specialists in network who focused on that condition.

I had to pay cash.
All plans are required to have comprehensive access to speciality care as a part of minimum coverage.

Just because you didn’t get to see the specialist you wanted doesn’t mean they didn’t have a specialists available.

This thread is hilarious. Anyone know anyone paying $50,000 a year for health insurance and has Obamacare as the provider? LOL. You guys will believe anything.

Yes - and that’s with the PRE-COVID schedule that Dems refuse to go back to.

The Rs aren’t talking about eliminating subsidies! You’re either gaslighting or very confused. They just want to go back to the subsidy schedule that Obama said was such a great system.

You’re admitting it’s a failure and that taxpayers need to dump an additional TRILLION dollars in to rescue it?

Network adequacy (i.e., ensuring a health plan has sufficient providers in network to provide the services included in its products) is regulated and overseen by states. It wasn’t until the Biden administration that the feds began to step in on account of some states, like yours apparently, being pretty shitty.

I’m telling you there were NO such specialists in my network. I spent hours on the phone with them and even called the Commission of Whatever it was called and got the same answer: Obamacare plans did not have to offer specialists in all fields.

They’re talking about eliminating subsidies for anyone over 400% FPL. You still haven’t explained why someone making $1 over 400% FPL should get zero when someone making $1 under 400% FPL should get a perhaps generous subsidy.

JoeB131 has one immigrant who got off ths boat and without job home or food decided to sign up for Obammycare at $800/mo.

Nope, This was pre-Biden. The new Obamacare plans did not have to have specialists in every field. So if a plan wanted to exclude people who has Xorphia, they simply did not have an Xorphia specialist.

You people have no idea how bad Obamacare made it for millions of Americans who previously had good plans.

It’s called network adequacy and they are required to have specialists in all fields. This is primarily governed by state insurance boards, rather than the federal government.

If you need a neurologist, they will have a neurologist. They may not have the neurologist you want that you feel is “expert” enough for you, but they will have someone in that field.

Until she decided to marry the old coot and exchange sex for a better living arrangement. Seems it was the best Joe could do.

I know it was pre-Biden, that’s my point. Network adequacy requirements have always been a state responsibility. Until last year, national standards didn’t exist. If your state insurance commissioner was allowing the sale of products in your state that didn’t include specialists to provide its covered services, shame on him.

I’m guessing you have a different definition of the word “specialist” than the medical community.

If xorphia is a neurological condition, they have a neurologist for you to see. I’m guessing you think you are entitled to see your special xorphologist, but that’s not really the case.

Most women want PPO. They don't like cheaper in-network strangers fooling around down there under the sheet. It's painful to go start over. It's painful to check doctors you have, to see if they cover you if you switch. It's a complicated mess. Thick paper comes to your house over an DC over. Nobody reads it. Nobody has time fo Dat'

Obamacare advertised itself as how wonderful it all was because all pre-existing conditions would be covered - knowing that it was up to the states and that conditions could very well be excluded? That’s dishonest, at the minimum.

What I know is that pre-Obamacare, I had a condition that was being treated by a specialist, and covered except for a small co-pay, and once Obamacare hit, NO specialist was covered in my network, and I had to pay $300 per visit - in addition to a much higher premium.

Obamacare caused hardships to millions of Americans.
