Democrats can’t keep the 'Schumer Shutdown' going much longer

You underestimate Democrat's ability to be nasty douchebags. Democrats don't give a rats ass about the people and haven't for a long time now. Democrats only purpose in seeking power in government is to line their own greedy pockets.

You just keep mumbling that to yourself....
I will. Because it's the truth. The peope aren't fooled by this Republican stunt.. We know what Democrats are opposing, and repeating a lie over and over is not going to work.

As we enter another week of the Dem/Schumer shutdown American's hatred of Democrats grows.
Democrap Fatigue is becoming Democrap Exhaustion. Time to vote them all of them out of office and encourage them to move, and take their fucked up cult constituents, to another country. Unfortunately no other country on the planet wants them either and all immigration will be cancelled. Mexico will build, and pay for, a massive mile high wall to keep them out. All Canadians will convert to MAGA just to keep them out. They are going to have to stake out a new colony on Antarctica.

More people blame Trump than democrats.

Thems sure must be some stupid people then, because Trump isn't the one who has refused to keep government open TWELVE TIMES so far, even just so we can negotiate further to reach an agreement first--- no, Chuckie Schumer has, and he has held the nation hostage for a month saying 100% his way or the highway, he will run this country into the dirt first if he doesn't get his 1,500 billion dollars to give away on healthcare to people who don't even belong here, and screw the rest of us.

IM2 has been found in the wild! Here she is!

You guessed it. All these fat slobs sitting around cramming junk in their faces all day long like pigs while getting knocked up, they are not the problem, they are the SYMPTOM of the problem--- government, because government creates these people by REWARDING their behavior to live like this, because it just encourages them to sit around all day long getting knocked up because the more kids she plops out, THE BETTER OFF SHE LIVES.

So the solution is not to punish everyone on SNAP or WIC as the problem even if they live responsibly and need and deserve the services, the solution is to get these maggots off these services and back out working or something if they can, and fix these programs so that they are finally effectively run and managed.

As usual, you just can't trust government to ever run even a government program effectively.

Snap and Section 8 should have an expiration date. To get them you must have and maintain a clean criminal record. To get them you must pass a general knowledge exam that every America should be able to easily pass. To get them you must DESERVE to be helped.

Sure, sounds reasonable. But I hear a lot of "solutions" on social media on how to "fix" things like healthcare and waste in SNAP programs. Thing is, these programs are only as good as the people running them and all we have is the government which is BASED on things like DEI and CRT.

So when people suggest solutions to me, I just point out to them that before anyone leaps into a "perfect solution" just remember the law of unintended consequences.

Sometimes pulling a loose thread can unravel a whole suit, meaning that sometimes we do things with the best of intentions but they end up causing even bigger problems we didn't anticipate.

Good points! I really think the size and scope of the federal government should be drastically reduced, and much of the welfare programs should be administered by the states, or even at the county level. It is true that the federal and state governments are not capable of administering the various programs without a lot of political corruption, so maybe these programs can be administered by Not For Profit companies?

I'm not sure what the best solution is but I know the government ain't getting it done. So yes, we need to reduce the role of government and fix these programs to administer what people need to the people who need it, but to hear some people on this board, you would think I was calling forth the devil to use common sense.

In other words, I propose INTELLIGENT, data-fed solutions, instead of feel-good kneejerk solutions.

The government does nothing but **** everything up and we need LESS government in our lives not MORE.

Feckless Republicans are not looking much better.

Thune needs to go nuclear for CRs, Appropriations, and Rescissions, to get the BBB policies passed before its too late and Trump's agenda gets blocked. If not, it will be CR, CR,CR,CR,CR, then 2028.

What I don't get is this: In Law and government, you always have a contingency plan to assure the continuity of government. Well, where is the contingency plan?

Surely, someone must have sat down at least once in these past 250 years and asked themselves: "What do we do in the event that one partly refuses to pass a budget? What is our contingency?"

Somewhere on some book somewhere there must be a law that says, when all else fails, this is how one party can OK a budget, even if it is only some limp-mode emergency resolution just to keep things working.

And there has to be a penalty or consequence for those who would do such a thing--- otherwise, why shouldn't they do it?

Its called "going nuclear", its a simple 51-vote majority to change the senate rules.
Stupid Republicans won't do it for some stupid reason.
Democrats tried to do it last term, but Manchin and Sinema voted no.

Nope. Until now no party was that stupid.

Nope. Its just a senate rule called the "filibuster" that requires 60 votes to end debate.
It is good for major changes to Law, but now its just a stupid roadblock to the majority.
Thune needs to go nuclear.
