Except in reality the Trump generation is getting older and older, and he has single-handedly soured younger people completely on the republican party. Normally people tend to turn conservative as they age, but after Trump, not many people my age want to be associated with the party of corruption, stupidity, and white supremacy.
Used to be the party of family values. What the hell happened to that?
As one of the elderly members here, I can testify that this nonsense of Republicans being dying breed is nothing more than propaganda; been hearing that for over 30 years now.
During the DumBama administration, the Republicans have made record sweeps in elections; not only national, but local and state offices as well.
Here is what you have to understand about your party: The Democrats are trying like hell to convince their voters that Socialism and Communism is the future of this nation. When they lose elections, they don't fess up to their mistakes, instead, they give excuses why they lost. They try to convince you that they really won, it's just that Republicans cheated somehow.
Bush first election: The Supreme Court selected Bush, punch card ballots.
Bush second election: Diebold machines.
Trump election: Russia tampering.
Congressional leadership: Gerrymandering, Voter-ID, Vote purging.
If Democrats could ever tell the truth which is conservatism, personal responsibility, capitalism are not dead, it would knock the wind out of the sails of their constituents. So they have to convince you that you actually won, it's just that you got cheated somehow.
Your right Ray...they said the same about Clinton and the youth vote in 1992. Trump did very well with college educated men and women in 2016 and with the tax cuts his support should increase.
