No stupid. The Republican Party is the party of lies. They've been lying to you since Richard Nixon. He lied about attacking Cambodia, in addition to Watergate.

Reagan lied about everything. Iran Contra, the Savings & Loan Scandal. More Reagan staffers were indicted and found guilty than under Nixon. Even Reagan admitted his economic policies were a failure, which resulted in the stock market crash. Instead of raising income taxes on the wealthy, reversing his earlier cuts, he raised taxes on the Middle Class.

That's why Bush 41 ran on a slogan of "Read my lips! No New Taxes!". Then he promptly broke that promise, which is largely why he lost in 1992. Clinton also raised taxes, but he also increased the minimum wage - something that hadn't happened in 1980, decreased unemployment, reduced poverty, and balanced the budget. America prospered and Clinton was wildly popular, and Republicans couldn't have that.

They started rumours about the Clintons that lead to a 6 year Special Counsel's investigation which found no bribery, no corruption, and no sexual harassment, or "pay for play", so they went with what they had: a lie about a blow job in a civil suit.

W lied his way into Iraq, with disastsrous consequences. And crashed the economy.

Obama saved the economy; replaced all of the jobs lost and set the nation back on the road to prosperity, despite the racist backlash to his election. Donald Trump was elected by disaffected white people, who were left out of the Obama recovery.

Trump lied about the pandemic and over a million Americans have died as a result. He also crashed the economy.

With Trump closing the border, you're now complaining about food prices rising. Well who do you think is planting, harvesting and processing those crops for below minimum wage????? This is not true at all. First when it comes to policies, the democrats never give theres. Eevn in bills they pass, they have to pass it before they can tell you what's in it. They can't debate positions, which is why they ban books, speakers, and kick people off social media due to "disinformation"....it's all bs. They have the Universities, schools, Hollywood, the media all pushing their bs, and they still can not debate their policies, it's why they always use an ism to stop the conversation. The ACA was negotiated with the GOP for months and many changes were made at their request. Nancy’s quote was to the people saying when she passes it the people will see how beneficial it is vs all the noise of controversy. Why would you want to go straight to being disingenuous if your desire is to debate? Those two points I made are facts. The Democrats are not banning books. Never have. You must have that confused with Texas. What happens to right wingers who have terrible positions is they are faced with protesters and wilt from guilt. That’s 1A in action. Give it the respect you give 2A.

You can debate all you want but if you take reprehensible positions you’ll be ostracized from mainstream. There is a Rommel quote about Americans that is telling: “ Americans know less but learn faster than any troops I have faced”. Even at Kasserine, most American units didn’t rout, they made the Afrika Korps pay for the ground it took. Also something to remember, the Americans were using second line equipment, FDR stripped the Shermans and much gear to give to Monty. The Americans were fighting with M-3 Lees, M-3 Stuarts and M-3 GMC halftrack tank destroyers instead of M-4 Shermans, M-3A1 and M-3A3 Stuarts.

Okay, the discussion was "did people fear the US before WWII", and the answer is, clearly they didn't, as the Axis felt they could go to war with the US and win before the US could make a material difference in the war.

We Americans tend to inflate our role in WWII.

There's a great series on youtube called "World War II day by Day" , and you can see how much of the heavy lifting in WWII was really done by the Soviets.
