Now, take away that huge increase from the top 1% and make it like it once was (about less than a 70% annual increase) and all of a sudden the lower 40% is now being paid a living wage. And the top 1% can still afford their new yacht and that Rolls Royce, just not 5 of them. Since the top 1% refuses to comply with this, we use taxes to make up the difference. Just like we once did where the rich was taxed at a 91% rate for anything over 200K.

With a minimum wage here in Colorado of 15 bucks an hour, the total for a year (without any time off) is $28,800. I am just above that. And trust me, if any emergency crops up, I am in deep doodoo. Meanwhile, you support minumum wage of $7.25 which figures out (with no time off) comes to $13,920. If I am having to balance at $32,000 a year, the 7.25 min wage is picking things up off the sidewalks and dumpsters without any help. And, notice, they are working full time.

If I made the $60K that someone says that he has no problems with then I would be living much better. And I think of myself damned lucky with the Medicare people that makes anywhere from 660 bucks a month to 1300 bucks a month. I am NOT in the lower 20% but I am in the lower 40%.

Considering that the 1%ers had an increase of 987% since 1989, And they keep getting tax breaks to boot, we do need to figure out a way to increase the lower 40% a bit.
We can do it with taxes of we can depend on the rich to start paying higher wages to their workers. We already know that the 1%er won't do it on their own. So we have full time workers on welfare.
