Lol you pretend like America does not have high expenditures now. Our defense budget is complete bloated. Obviously cutting that could pay for those programs. It would also help if we closed the loopholes and deductions that rich people take advantage of to increase revenue. Hell we wouldn’t even need Medicare for all plan. We would just revamp the healthcare system we have now to make it more affordable. You do know that, ACA or not, that our system has always been terrible right?
There's enough production/GDP in America for the federal government to expand its budget without causing inflation. The federal budget could easily be double, or even triple of what it is today, without causing inflation. The US dollar is a sovereign fiat currency created ex-nihilo by the US federal government i.e. the exclusive issuer of the currency. The reason the federal government demands taxes and other fees from the American people is to maintain the value of the dollar and get money out of the economy, to control inflation. Just like in the middle ages, the kings of England would burn the tally sticks or the taxes, after receiving them:
The US federal government does the same thing to the USD when we pay our taxes. The federal government doesn't need our tax dollars to fund itself or acquire dollars. It taxes to maintain the value of the currency, increase production and control inflation. State and local governments need to levy taxes to fund themselves, including receiving subsidies from the federal government, but the federal government is monetarily sovereign, as the "creator" of the currency. It doesn't need anyone to fund it or provide it with dollars.
The so-called "national debt" is a lie, a misnomer, because unlike us who are the users of the currency, our federal government is the issuer or creator of the currency. Our federal government will never become insolvent or unable to pay its debts. The federal government debt is acutally a ledger of how much money is in the private sector in the form of treasury bonds and savings. Watch these videos to get a full grasp of what I just said:
Don't drink the "national debt" Kool-Aid, it's designed to give you the false impression that the federal government can't afford social programs without taxing the American people. We have more than enough money in this country to modernize and build our infrastructure and provide healthcare, education..etc, to the American people, without heavy taxation. Certain elements in our government and in the private sector, want everything, even social security, and medicare to be privatized. They don't want the government doing anything, because supposedly whenever the government does something that's "socialism". All of the fearmongering about a "national debt" is just anti-government capitalist claptrap.
