The New York Times Friday report that Republican Sen. Marco Rubio (Fla.) and his wife Jeanette have been cited 17 times for traffic violations was written after the citations were pulled by liberal opposition research firm American Bridge, according to Miami-Dade County court records.

Records show that each of the citations mentioned by the New York Times were pulled in person by American Bridge operatives on May 26, 2015.

Take for example the time Rubio was pulled over in 1997. “Mr. Rubio’s troubles behind the wheel predate his days in politics,” wrote the New York Times. “In 1997, when he was cited for careless driving by a Florida Highway Patrol officer, he was fined and took voluntary driving classes.”

A look at the docket for that infraction on Miami-Dade County’s website shows that American Bridge was in Miami to pull records on that case at 11:42 a.m. on May 26:

Neither of the reporters, Alan Rappeport and Steve Eder, appeared on the docket records for any of the traffic citations for Rubio and his wife. An additional researcher credited in the New York Times, Kitty Bennett, also does not appear on any of the court records.

The reporters, however, were praised by others in the newsroom for their “nice scoop.”

None of the reporters involved responded to Washington Free Beacon requests for comment by press time.

In a recent Times story that actually cited Democratic sources by name, Jeremy Peters reported that “A Hillary Clinton Match-Up With Marco Rubio Is a Scary Thought for Democrats.”

So scary, indeed, that Democrats appear to be feeding opposition research to the Times.

It cracks me up that with all the illegal crap the Clinton's do that the media is making a big deal of this.

Take note that Rubio did not use his political power to get rid of the tickets.

The ones that we know about...

I demand a major investigation!!! Costing millions of dollars! At least until November 9th...

Let's take a page from the GOP playbook.

When I commented on morons having a lack of self-awareness, I never dreamed I would immediately see rightards whining about "opposition research" and sliming of a candidate.

Hey, rightards, any of you have the intellect to wonder why you have been given nothing but slime to sling and nothing on positions on the issues to squawk? Could it be that your position of fixing the damage of rightardism by insisting to the point of taking the nation hostage that we must get still more rightarded does not resonate with the voters?

Any of you have any ideas at all on what you're going to run on besides pissing off the Mexicans and bomb somebody?

Idiot, it's all a matter of record and the guy didn't lie or weasel his way out of anything. And he didn't use political connections to seal the records, unlike another corrupt person did.

Rubio is equal to Clinton in corruption allegations that have been proven! :lmao:

Have democrats gone through the Rubio trash yet?

Dems are always up to their elbows in trash, mainly the scandals that surround them, so of course they will dig in hopes of finding something on their opponents. Funny how the little things get blown out of proportion when it involves Repubs but Dems ignore the biggest scandals when it's their own.

As if some traffic violations can even begin to equal the cattle futures, Whitewater, a trail of dead people involved in Clinton scandals, hidden emails, big money unaccounted for during Hillary's stint as Sec of State and then there are the outright lies she told after the Benghazi attack.

Take note that Rubio did not use his political power to get rid of the tickets.

How would the NYT know, they haven't pulled any documents and the document retrieval service they claim did the pulling hasn't pulled any documents.
If the Times is found to have deliberately lied to cover up liberal bias -- this is going to be huge.

A much, much bigger story than Rubio's four traffic tickets.

Four traffic tickets compared to destroying government records and selling our country out for cash (not to mention having a hand in the ME going up in flames)???

And if you want to bring spouses into the mix, which is worse, a few traffic tickets, or perjury ( a felony)????

Gawd, I just love to smell the desperation from the Libs!!!!!!
