Godfather confusion (spoiler). Why didn't Michael seek revenge for Apolonias (his first wife's) death?

We all know the scene because no one saw it coming. She seems to be a nice girl, could have been with him for his life but someone planted a bomb sparked by his ignition and inadvertently killed his wife when she was going to drive to him.

I know he just received the message his brother had been killed and the families were going to sit down and find peace but I cannot imagine they didn't allocate a 30 second scene of someone, anyone striking revenge back in Italy before or even after he left.

Am I right or wrong? I find this to be a slight detour from where he is going and it had to have contributed to his darker personality change that soon followed after Vito passed.

It's in the DVD extras.
They found him in the US. He ran a pizza place.
Blew up his car.

They should have included the scene in Godfather to at least give some closure. Perhaps I am being picky but it would have tied up loose ends for the attempt on his life and the death of his new wife.
