Democrat convention may be canceled

Republicans don't need to have one. The candidate is chosen.

Top Democrats say party's convention may be canceled over coronavirus threat

Oh yes they do. Nobody is nominated yet by any party. SOME formal procedure needs to happen.

Are you like new to this planet?

:auiqs.jpg:

Well since you ask ...

The RNC merely needs to issue a formal statement designating Trump the candidate by acclimation. It's not as if he has any competition.

Actually he does have competition. My state gave me the options of voting for Weld or Walsh.

:auiqs.jpg:

Both have dropped out.

The party has already endorsed Trump.

Parties don't "endorse". They nominate.

Wake me when that happens, K?

Nomination is unnecessary, as he has been endorsed.

Parties don't "endorse". They NOMINATE.

Thought I explained this.

"Endorsement" doesn't put a name on a ballot. Nomination does.

You hang with that.

Unfortunately --- we all do. Every four years.

What a gift for the Joe Rape supporters... hmm? Keeping him away from the prying eyes of the voters is a Godsend.

Can you imagine that stuttering fuck trying to stammer out some kind of coherent message in a public setting like that?

No, me neither.

Actually all parties running are candidates. Buttplug was a candidate. Kamala Harris was a candidate. Biden is the presumptive nominee. After the convention, Biden will be the nominee. Trump will still be The President.

It's more likely that Weld simply dropped from liver failure.

Actually it's more likely that between COVID cancellations and the Republican Party having already been running around cancelling primaries lest their cramsicle get licked, he figured what's the point. You can't campaign if human congregation is curtailed. Rump suspended his campaigning too.

It's irrelevant, all of that relates to primaries, which are irrelevant to who a party nominates. Again, when the time comes they (both party) will nominate whoever they think at that time gives them a shot. Doesn't even need to be anybody who actually ran for it.

Nor if you have no support.

Three questions. How are the Dems. going to nominate the parrot without a convention? What's worse, COVID-19 or dementia? Do Dems. ever plan on having a platform beside Trump bad?

Nobody has an audience where people cannot audience.

I notice you cut out more than half the post and specifically cut out the sentence "Rump suspended his campaign too". You must think that makes the fact go away. That's cute. It's also a violation of site rules.

But just to extend the thought, you don't even need "support" if the party decides it wants to go another direction. Teddy Roosevelt came to the convention with support, and he got shown the door. And he made them pay too.

Republicans don't need to have one. The candidate is chosen.

Democrats don't need one neither-- -- -- they've already chosen Stiff Joe as their least disaster and are looking for any excuse at all to exclude Bernie.

Neither Democrats nor Republicans have "chosen" anybody. That happens at the conventions.
Or this year, if those don't happen, by whatever means the party hierarchies decide to employ.

"Primaries" are irrelevant to that. If you think you're "choosing" your candidate by voting in a primary, you're what the party considers a useful idiot.

Do people actually watch any of these political wank fests? :dunno:

President Trump had a tremendous convention in 2016.

Heidi Cruz certainly didn't have a good time. She had to be escorted from the convention for her own protection after her husband didn't endorse candidate Trump in his speech.

Luckily, all is forgiven now that Senator Cruz has cucked himself and kissed the ring. lol

A lot of people still had doubts about Donald J. Trump's abilities in the summer of 2016.

Not just Señor Cruz.

But Trump's record since taking the oath has been tremendous.
