Thoughts From an Independent

As conservatives and liberals hiss and spit at each other on these forums, many have lost sight of the fact that the one saving grace we have in America has nothing to do with politics. It's the opportunity to be Independent.

Consider ditching TV, social media, and your YouTube entertainment stuff and start the process of getting your own enterprise off the ground. Most of you are capable of learning things like bookkeeping, coding, medical billing, house sitting, pet sitting, etc. Much of this can be learned for free at your local library or on the internet.

No matter who sits in the Whitehouse or who controls Congress, this will always be true:

"There are 2 types of people in the world: Those who own the store, and those who scrap the shit off the floor"

Something to think about as you head off to work today.

Then again I've never been forced to register to vote in a primary by party as Virginia does not have party registration.

I've noticed just the opposite here as political partisans take sport in practicing what the Germans term
"schadenfreude" when it comes to their opponents.

Schadenfreude: the experience of pleasure, joy, or satisfaction that comes from learning of or witnessing the troubles, failures, or humiliation of another person.

It's especially irksome when these troubles or failures come at the expense of the country's well being.
