As Ron White famously said "You can't fix stupid!" And, it abounds in the evangelical Christian community. They seem to feel that, being money donating, Christ accepting, religious people, that "God" will take care of them. But, they either aren't aware of or they choose to ignore the German holocaust in the 1930's and 1940's.

"God" turned his back on 6 million Jews and Roma that the Nazis killed. Think about it. If he turned his back on these people, what makes you think you are more in "God's" favor?

Why do people not understand the bible? God gave man free will. You can not have free will with supernatural intervention. The gift of life is that what happens is up to you.

Read the Old Testament, it could enlighten you with God.

I only "count on" myself. Not that there aren't higher authorities but I still only trust completely me, myself, and I.

"We will continue to have church," he said. "This is a government overreach. They are asking us as a government to stop practicing our freedom of religion. And we have a mandate from God to assemble and to gather together and to keep doing what we're doing."
they are enroaching on others right to have life.

No freedom of assembly. No freedom of religion. The first amendment is essentially gutted. Whether I want to believe God will protect me is between me and God. That's what liberty is all about.

Who wooda thought they would start locking up Pastors for illegal assembly? The crazy left loves it though. You almost gotta laugh if it wasn't so tragic that the Fla. Gov. will be forced to take in at least 100 foreigners off a cruise ship who are sick and nobody gets charged.

Bible also says "sell your cloak and buy a sword"

Meaning FIGHT, don't just walk on the train as told. Holocaust victims greatly outnumbered the German guards. A few get killed charging a guard, take his subgun and magazines and fight the others, take theirs. The Jews in Warsaw ghetto did fight, started this way and did very well. They also believed in God.

The twelve travelled through Israel (or maybe just Galilee) preaching the kingdom and living only on the generosity of their hosts in each village, who were few and far between. That is, the masses of the villagers would chase them out of town. The apostles brought nothing with them - not even moneybags or knapsacks. Their one option was to flee.

After the seeds of the kingdom had been planted, Jesus advised them to bring swords next time. They would be hated for his sake; they needed to defend themselves.

They carried out their mission well, martyrdom notwithstanding; the kingdom proliferated. Contrary to the OP, God has not abandoned His people.

Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but is there any special reason why the preachers were the only people being arrested when everyone else in the sanctuaries are who were willing to make up the congregations which their choice to do that is what led their preachers to being cuffed in the first place? To me, if they are going to stand together, should they all fall down together too?

God bless you and the people and their preachers always!!!

As has been stated - free will. Faith in God is not about what He will do for you here, it's about what He will do for you when you're done here.

You Christian haters will never understand this.
