In Houston you can't even leave a parked vehicle on the side of the freeway without it getting towed, much less parking in a lane of traffic and refusing to leave. The Congressmen's threat is an idle one. We have laws that will still protect their property, though they would be liable for towing and storage fees, like every other driver who broke that law.

You also can't change your own flat tire on one of the loops or interstates inside houston. All of the tow trucks are lined up under the overpasses.

"Law enforcement agencies in Maryland, Virginia and D.C. are monitoring what could be a number of trucker convoys coming to D.C.," the report said. "Truckers apparently spurred on by the recent protests in Canada want their voices heard, but the extent of the protests and how disruptive they may be is still unclear."

Assume for a moment that the government could actually legally pull this off. How could it possibly rebound against democrats? Here's but one way it could:

Republicans could simply arrest anyone headed for any demonstration democrats might support and confiscate all their belongings, because they could end up burning buildings and assaulting people. Then give all their belongings to the owners of any businesses in the area the protest was going to be held in.
