Dem. Leader Hakeem Jeffries goes on record opposing suppressing illegal votes.

:p

New citizens? Is that what you're calling ILLEGAL ALIENS now?

LMAO
No silly one. New citizens are those turning 18 and now eligible and the 40% of American citizens eligible to vote who have never bothered to vote or register, and yes the newly naturalized citizens...

FAKE NEWS.

You need an ID to do everything else on this planet, you DAMN SURE ought to need one to vote.
I don't need my drivers license for anything, other than driving and have not needed to use it the last 20 years for anything other than driving, and flying out of country. I haven't lived in any state that required a govt issued photo ID to vote, either....

These people do have ways of identifying themselves, they all may not have a government issued, photo ID if they do not drive.... And if they do not drive and do not have access to a car, it is not easy for them to get to the driver's license place, to get one, or they are hourly workers who would lose part of their pay, to leave work to get one, or the wear with all or money or time to get a copy of their birth certificate in order to get the govt photo ID.

These things can be overcome, and in time it has been overcome by many who had no Gvt issued photo ID through the help of other volunteers...

it's only been since 9/11 2001, where IDs became important...in my day, I opened a bank account without a gov't photo ID, I drove without a photo on my driver's license, I started new Jobs without a gvt photo ID, I lived my life without needing a gov't issued photo ID. 9/11 is when this changed...that's not long ago, for us oldie old geezers.

FAKE F***ING NEWS

What are you disputing? Argue, your argument, please.... And without your vulgarities, if at all possible...thanks! 😁
You need ID to do the following. The ONLY reason the democrats don't want voter ID is the obvious --- they are going to cheat.

  • Open a bank account
  • Withdraw money from a bank account that is already opened
  • Buy alcohol or cigarettes
  • Apply for food stamps
  • Apply for welfare
  • Apply for Social Security
  • Apply for a job
  • Apply for unemployment
  • Apply for a hunting/fishing license
  • Apply for a mortgage
  • Rent an apartment
  • Rent a car
  • Get on a airplane
  • Get into a government building
  • Get married
  • Rent a hotel room
  • Talk to your cell phone company about your account
  • Donate blood
.... and more....

GAME OVER.

I never claimed election officials vetting applications for citizenship, or minimum age requirement, or their address etc. is unconstitutional.

Big Brother has all the State and federal gov't systems to verify applications. If you are a citizen, they have all the info on you, to verify the accuracy and truthfulness of your application....
Ok, so laws on the books or OK, any new law is unconstitutional.

Got it. :cuckoo:

Minors are not citizens?

Link?

Listen...
The goold old boys had the id requirement before and they abused it... That is why we had Selma...

Today we still see long lines of blacks trying to vote and hardly any queues in more white districts...

This is because the MAGA just don't want blacks to vote... The same as Selma...

So nice try, can you prove there was mass voter fraud first... You want to bring in draconian ID laws (much like the NAZIs) to solve the non existent problem...
When I worked in inner city areas there were plenty of voting stations and I never saw thousands of people waiting in lines or being denied.

Thanks for the response crazyT55

FYI-you don't need a government issued PHOTO ID for all those things....even now a days. Many other forms of ID can be used...

The issue dems had with the new Republican proposal for mandatory identification at the polls, was they wanted it or were pushing it to be only government issued PHOTO IDs,

and citizens who did not Drive, did not have one, and the difficulty they, as non car owners and non drivers, would have problems getting to places that issue them and the paperwork that may be required of which they may not have, and the cost or difficulty to get it....

A whole bunch of concerns with disenfranchisement of citizens who have voted their whole lives without needing a gov't issued photo ID. Lots of suits have taken place to stop this disenfranchisement, which the good guys😀won, and non partisan groups formed to assist citizens in obtaining a govt issued photo ID.

...and as I said, AFTER 9/11/2001 is when these requirements started to take affect and the underhanded in disguise push by our government to have a National ID card, Papers Please!

I had no government photo ID when I opened my first bank account, when I first voted, when I first drove, when I bought my first bottle of wine or beer or Mad Dog, nor when I was laid off for winter from a store I worked in the summers, that closed for winter, and I applied for an unemployment check... My state didn't have photos on our driver's licenses, (they were not even laminated, but card stock, it was about 10 years or more behind other states on that!).

...this whole 'PAPERS PLEASE' Nazi like attitude for ID by some Americans came AFTER 9/11, which is really not that long ago...

Funny how when you ask black folks if they were able to get a photo ID they look at you like you are crazy.

Why does the racist Democrat party try to convince America blacks are too lazy and/or stupid to get an ID?

No silly one. New citizens are those turning 18

Really? You're not a citizen if you're under 18?

Who knew?

and now eligible and the 40% of American citizens eligible to vote who have never bothered to vote or register,

Whose fault is that?

**** em if they dont want to vote. No one cares.

and yes the newly naturalized citizens...
And they're mad as hell because illegals are diluting their votes.

Apparently it's extreme MAGA Republican to require people to be a US Citizen and 18 to vote.....which is you know, what our Constitution requires.

So, let's be clear, the Dem leadership made clear, they think the US Constitution is extreme.

Yep, but the voting rights act only requires a person claim they are a citizen to be able to register to vote, they don't have to prove it. And because of this, the supreme court said States can't require proof of citizenship, this bill would have change that.

No it doesn’t,

House passes bill requiring voters prove citizenship in federal elections

.
Yes that’s what the new bill does.

Right now it’s not required to prove you meet the requirements to vote

The applicant for registration attests under penalty of law, that the answers to the questions on the form are true, ...it is State Election officials job to vet the applications for accuracy...Are they really a citizen? Are they really 18 or older? Do they really live at this address in this voting district? Depending on state, are they a felon or ex felon?

Under federal law, and the Constitution, all voters in federal elections must be citizens of the United States.

Yeah the Constitution requires they by 18 and a US Citizen. All this law does is make people prove it when they vote

They should also prove it when they register, but the constitution doesn’t require registration…so we are talking about apples and oranges here

Because the Constitution has no mention of registration or how to handle it, then that would mean the founders left it to the States to govern, yes? No? And it is out of the federal gov't reach...?
