Deer Steaks

A good video on cooking venison. Deer season is coming up.

HMMMMM...Love venison....................My mother would soak the meat overnight in a light Red Wine Vinegar. Damed I miss when all my relatives went deer hunting
 
I usually make various types of sausage out of most of a white tail and steak out the backstrap and tenderloin.
I got spoiled on Axis Deer where you can steak out the whole animal.

I've had venison before. Don't care for it.
One of my Uncles has a catfish farm, and every year for our summer get together, he'd fry up a ton of catfish, hunt a deer, and maybe some quail. One year he hunted wild boar.

I'm not big on hunting, but if it's legal and it's for food, I'm ok with it.

I tried venison several ways, and I just don't like the gamey taste. Steak, roast, sausage, burger, and several other ways........and it all tastes the same to me.

Wild boar though............OMFG!!! Now THAT is what ham is SUPPOSED to taste like!!!! Hell, I could have eaten the whole thing!!!

Of course I LOOOOVE catfish. He raised the best catfish.

I had quail once. Didn't really have any taste to me.

Wild chicken tastes freeking awesome too! I forget how REAL food tastes when it's not soaked in 100 chemicals, flavorings, and preservatives.
