An announcement says Iranian and American ships are moving away from confrontation near Yemen.

Is reason somehow 'breaking out'?

It was never 'escalated' as no one on earth believed obama was ever going to do anything. 'Red line'...

Did people believe the Iranians were going to do something?

By the way, this is in no way to be interpreted as either defending or attacking the US, Obama or others, merely discussing the situation around Yemen and the potential confrontation at sea.

Everyone that opposes the US sure talks trash when in the safety of their home, but once they venture into the real world, here we are.....Bring it on...If you feel the need to die young and leave a pretty corpse..

No follow-up news or reports, so it is not clear what happened. Good sense? Seems like such a reasonable turn of events that it is hard to believe. It can only be good, one would think.

"Reason" only exists when self-interests happen to coincide.

Good point and almost certainly true in international relations.

Wonder what the quid pro quo is here.
