Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton wanted to raise taxes on the wealthy as part of his solution to the states debt.
Why?
Study finds Minnesota's tax system still regressive
High-income Minnesotans continue to pay lower overall tax rates than everyone else, according to a new tax incidence study released today by the Minnesota Department of Revenue.
<snip>
The overall state and local tax burden averaged 11.5 percent of income in 2008. The state's highest-income taxpayers the 10 percent of households earning more than $130,000 paid an effective tax rate of 10.3 percent. The remaining 90 percent of low- and middle-income households paid a substantially higher effective tax rate of 12.3 percent.

How can anyone blame Dayton for wanting to level the playing field regarding the effective tax rate for all Minnesotans?
So all Minnesotans pay tax and the wealthy aren't paying enough?
Or, as with the rest of the country, are 50% of Minnesotans not paying tax at all and this 'level playing field' is really just wanting someone else to pay more so the lazy and illiterate don't have to?
Fuck 'em.
The very least we can do is STOP paying REBATES to those who pay ZERO Federal or State Tax.
This response is for both Cali and Willow,,,,obviously the tax disparity applies to those who pay taxes, so why the hate and the deflection. Is it too much to ask for a level paying field for all those who pay taxes???
