Republicans are trying to steal money from libraries in my county.
Libraries are funded with a seperate line item on our property tax and now they want to take it and spend it on other stuff.

This is so routine in government these days that it amounts to a dog bites man story.

A story where the money from a levy is actually going to where the money was supposed to would be something strange and wonderful. Here in Oregon something like 60% of the gas tax goes to mass transit and bike paths rather than the roads it is supposed to pay for.

And I don't believe it is the Republicans doing it in your locality. It is usually a D thing to shuffle funds around like that. As witness last weekends abortion where student loan money was used to balance the CBO health insurance bill to revenue neutral..
