Dallas Police officer Amber Guyger indicted for murder. Is this fair or unfair?

It’s a rarity when police officers are afforded the same criminal justice process as the rest of us. When it does happen... It’s a result of the system trying to distance itself from that officers actions, and the subsequent fallout.
Still it’s nice to see once in a while. Things would go more smoothly for everyone involved if there were no two tier justice system...

OJ got off for murder
most of the police shootings are justifiable
the system is not perfect and never will be
many people [civilians ] are found innocent when they are guilty/thought of as guilty/etc
I thought Zimmerman was guilty of manslaughter, but he got off--he's not a cop
etc
provide evidence
you will always have some people[ cops also ] that are not charged/found guilty

..the police were NOT called for assistance/etc
....MOST of the other shootings involve a criminal committing a crime and/or resisting/threat/armed/etc

Remember, she was off duty though. This was not an officer involved shooting.

There is much that is reported, but little evidence is found in the Media. I can say she should have known she was not in the right apartment by many reasons. Her whole story just does not wash with me.

They have enough evidence to where they feel they could prove their case in a trial -- but the defendant also has a right to defend herself in court..

This is the same process the people she arrested had to go thru, no exception should be made for cops..

You are right that time will tell. As written, she should be charged with murder, but it will take a trial to bring out enough facts to make an informed decision. Why did she mistake the victim's apartment for her own.. was it same number, different floor? Wouldn't furniture immediately tell her it was the wrong unit? Lots of questions to be answered IMHO. Meantime, like everyone else, she deserves a fair judgement and justice must be served.

Yup the trial will tell the story.
