Dallas offered Brandon Aubrey close to $7 million a year. The largest kicker contract offer in 106 years of NFL football. Aubrey said no. His camp wants $10 million annually, a 56 percent premium over Harrison Butker's $6.4 million market-leading deal.

The Cowboys responded by slapping an unprecedented second-round restricted free agent tender on him, worth $5.76 million.

That tender was supposed to be leverage. Instead, it opened the door for every other team in football to make Aubrey a better offer.

LOL....Never underestimate the ability of the Cowboys to shoot themselves in the foot.

I could see a lot of contending NFL teams willing to pay up.
