The Kurdish leadership foolishly bought into the notion that the US would be consistent in their support. Simply no more than momentary useful tools, the Kurds served their purpose and now it is time to toss them aside like the used tissue that they are. Nobody is going to re-draw the borders in that region. Turks will not allow it, Iraq will not allow it, Iran will not allow it, nor will Syria.
