2. The Presidential elections from Obama through Biden (or whoever was running the White House under Biden) was disheartening not just for Republicans, bur essentially for any who believed in the American ethos- God given rights, individualism, and justice.

If you've ever watched a "Democratic Socialist" meeting, they refer to each other as "comrade." Pure Communism in reality.
What these neo-Marxists don't grasp, is that when Karl Marx started his "socialist" ideology, the west was in its fairly early phase of "industrialism" and there were no worker protections, no child labor laws, no minimum wages, no worker safety laws, et cetera. The working class barely had any money at the end of the day and the sleezy company heads, bilked the workers out of those earnings that the workers did get. It was a racket.
All that crap ended with worker safety laws (OSHA), fair wages, the implementation of child labor laws and other programs created to protect the working people. Once such things were created, a middle-class arose out of the newer policies.
In North American continent, the United States was formed with an entirely new form of government, meant to end a monarchy and dictatorship. Freedom became the new idea. Rights for the public were established, beyond those given to the British in their Magna Carta. The freedom of speech. The right to bear arms. The right to worship in your own religious belief, or not. Due process. The right to elect your leaders.
The problem with the so-called "Democrat Socialists" is that once they gain power, they end all opposition. Political opposition is stifled, just as we saw in the Biden years. It becomes authoritarian and it tries to chip away at the Bill of Rights. Once the Bill of Rights are gone, so too are the freedoms that came with them. It becomes the dictatorship that so many shed their blood to free us from.
