Doesn't matter what system you have, there will always be a group of whiners.
in reality nobody whines better than the Dittoheads, aka MAGANUTS. The vitriolic political rhetorical is the rabid rights contribution to America's current political crisis.

Have you thought of becoming a lecturer in a university teaching Irony, because that was epic.

My my, that's a nice vintage whine you have there.

Rush was Wrong
I'm British and been looking in on US politics for some time now. If you think your Republicans whine more than your Democrats, you're nothing but a lying bare-faced charlatan.

The only time democrat lefties whine about stuff like "proportional representation" is when they lose the freaking election.

What dems want proportional representation?

There is no great interest in either party for it.

Why should it be random? Why not just group everyone together?

For example.

In 2024 Republicans got 52.78% of the votes and Democrats 42.8% of the votes.

Republicans got 10 seats, Democrats got 4.

Had they just added up the votes, then the Republicans would have got 7.38 seats and the Democrats 5.992% of the seats.

In other words it might have been 8-6 seats for the Republicans. That seems fairer than doing it by districts which then just randomizes the whole process. It's luck.
No, it's representation.

And California would go ape if this happened.

And just about every state would have 1 democratic senator and 1 republican senator. Wouldn't that be fun.
