My Overall TakeA mature brainchip could be superior for certain power users — especially people who want maximum integration with AI, robots, and information. It would feel like a true extension of your mind. However, for most people, advanced AR glasses/contact lenses will probably remain the better everyday solution for a long time because they’re:
  • Safe and reversible
  • High resolution today
  • Easy to upgrade
  • Much cheaper and more accessible
The most likely future isn’t “brainchip vs glasses” — it’s both. Glasses/lenses for daily AR, and brain interfaces for people who need or want deeper integration (medical + high-end enhancement).Would you personally get a brain implant if it was safe and gave you perfect AR + thought control? Or do the risks still feel too high even in theory?
