Core Inflation pushing near 3%

The dollar is generally down but that doesn't really affect me much unless we are travelling
Oh yes it does. It makes everything imported cost more. Even if you don't buy goods from abroad, all those raw material inputs: copper, steel, chips, wood, etc. cost more. inversely, a cheaper dollar helps exports, but in a tariff war that won't matter.

Pushing into 3%?

When it "pushes" into Biden 9% give me a call.
“Starting on day one, we will end inflation and make America affordable again, to bring down the prices of all goods.” - Donald J. Trump

Remember when you all bitched and moaned about grocery and gas prices?

Trumpflation is not bringing those prices down. It is increasing them.

U.S. Inflation Accelerated in June as Trump’s Tariffs Pushed Up Prices

Gasoline prices rose 1 percent in June, after falling 2.6 percent the previous month. Grocery prices also rose, ticking up by 0.3 percent in June, or 2.4 percent from the same time last year.

Inflation was at a normal rate under the last year of Biden.

Trump promised to lower prices. He's breaking that promise.
Inflation was for some time, but rising again when Trump inherited and was back to 3 percent range, trump quickly reserved that
No the rate is lower than what he inherited.

Gas prices down, grocery prices dropped to a five year low. Promises made, and kept

I get you are upset he’s not fixing all the messes he inherited fast enough, but remember you voted for all the messes to begin with

12 mo CPI at 2.7%. In line with expectation.

Core Inflation rose 0.2% in June, annual rate rising to 2.9%. Again in line with expectations. (Neither measure 3%?)

Pre-Markets appear to like it. Furniture and apparal rising. Like dexter said, go to Ross, buy close outs and SHUP. We arent going to make T-shirts in Memphis as them boys don’t know how to work a job.

Grocery prices aren’t at a 5 year low. So far this year, they’re up 0.6%.

Why did you lie?

Looks like inflation is pushing into 3% territory. Core inflation was 2.9%.

The Consumer Price Index rose 2.7 percent from a year ago, the swiftest pace since February, data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics showed on Tuesday. That is slightly higher than expected and is up from an annual pace of 2.4 percent in May.

“Core” inflation, which strips out volatile food and energy prices and is seen as a reliable gauge for underlying price pressures, also shifted higher. Those prices were up 2.9 percent from the same time last year.

Inflation averaged 2.95% in 2024.

It’s about the current inflation rate. If you want to talk about the inflation rate from 3 years ago, start a new thread.
So your outage is fake because TDS gotten a hold of your brain?

2.9% inflation means prices are going up, not down.

Inflation was 2.89% in Dec. 2024. It was 2.67% last month.

All the talk of tariffs and the crazy inflation spike is a big dud. Some of us already knew that.

We are still riding on Biden inflation. Trump is able to bring the numbers down but you are bitching. Have you stopped complaining about the price of eggs yet?

Biden reamed the country for four years of inflation. All I heard from the media and Democrats were there's no inflation for four years. Suddenly a small percentage rise means the economy is crashing. Are leftists just willingly stupid or TDS prevent them from connecting 2+2?

Supply and demand are still major factors in pricing. I still bought all our mulch at the Home depot 5 for $10 spring sale this year just like I have done for years. If it had been 4 for $10 then I wouldn't still have a pile of extra bagged mulch in the back yard waiting for me to decide what to do with it. Likewise, it doesn't matter to me what Belk's pays for a polo shirt from wherever in Asia. They will sell it at a price I am willing to pay or they won't sell it to me. One of the benefits of having too much crap already is I can wait out a lot of things.

No one can roll their eyes to to the level needed to dismiss such blatant hypocrisy and idiocy.
- Again - the ENTIRE Democratic Party and virtually every liberal on this forum lied/denied and simply didn't care - at all - about Biden's 40 year record high inflation.
You have lost any credibility to make ANY point about inflation along with any Democrat or Democrat supporter.

PERIOD
