From what I've seen, there doesn't appear to be a notion that's too far into the weeds of crackpot territory that conservatives won't embrace wholeheartedly.

Don't believe me? Watch one of those so-called 'conservative summits' sometime. They'll have a plethora of speakers like Michele Bachmann and Allen West. It seems as if they actually try to outloon each other. At any rate, as the crowd gets increasingly worked up, some speaker (Sarah Palin comes to mind) will throw out some completely wild and unsubstantiated charge or accusation, and conservatives will cheer wildly (with emphasis on the wildly part). The further of the beaten trail of logic and reason the idea is, the greater the likelihood it will gain traction on conservative talk radio where it will burn like a prairie fire.
