"Hutchinson police say a 61-year-old man is in custody after allegedly dragging an officer with his vehicle while simultaneously striking him with a hammer following a dispute about face masks at a Menards store. Police were called to the store just before 2 p.m. Wednesday after an employee was attacked by the suspect with a piece of lumber. The suspect left, and was soon spotted by an officer in the parking lot of a nearby Walmart.

The suspect led the officer on a slow-speed chase that ended near the Hutchinson Mall off Highway 15 and Freemont Avenue Southwest. The officer approached the car, then became stuck in the driver’s side window. The suspect sped off with the officer hanging on, and then struck him on the head with a hammer."

Police need to just butt out of situations like this when it pertains to a citizen standing up for his freedom and to the tyranny of wearing a mask to go into a Menards....This guy is 61 yrs old and he remembers a time when there was true freedom in this country and probably was frustrated that some punk kid making minimum wage was trying to tell him to wear a mask....Luckily the officer being dragged and hit in the head with the hammer was able to empathize with Mr. Freedom and realized he was just venting his frustrations on his forehead...it wasn't like he was armed with a gun or even worse...dark skin....

True freedom in this nation? That's an odd statement since there never has been total freedom in this nation.

Sounds like the nut ball picked up a piece of lumber in the store and beat one of the employees with it. You can't do that at Lowes in Jackson, TN either. It's OK to beat up store employees where you live? What kind of sh#t hole, lawless town do you live in, where assault with a 2x4 is OK?

If that store employee tries to tell us we gotta wear a mask -- it is within our right to beat him or any cop who steps in to take away our freedoms!!

Oh, a satire thread. It wan't obvious, because it was so similar to the posts most Trump cultists make. Well done.

Good luck with that. Assault to commit bodily injury is against the law in my state. Asking people to comply with store policy if they want to shop there is not. Maybe you want to nationalize all the stores so owners cannot set any policy you don't like without an act of congress? Sounds like socialists to me.

No they shou;ld not. That store owns the property and they have every right to set the rules. If you don't like it then go somewhere else.

You are a real Nazi and socialist to boot. The store has every right to say what you can do on their property. Suppose a guest came to your home and demanded you wear a mask. If you don't then I suppose he can bash your skull in. That is not freedom. It is anarchy.
