There is no good reason to control good citizens well unless you motive is:Obama was influenced by the writings and philosophies Saul Alinsky, author of the book, "Rules for Radicals," and later by Frank Marshall Davis, with similar philosophies.

Barak Obama followed the philosophies of these 'role models' throughout his days as a Community Organizer for ACORN, using tactics that appeared to some as 'shaking down' businesses in exchange for not branding them 'hate groups.'

Increase mental health funding and bring back more mental hospitals
Increase police budgets and make harsher gun crime sentences to keep criminals in jail
Increase...drastically...the sentences for crimes related to unlawful gun carry, and create laws that punish gun owners who are careless and leave their weapons unsecure that results in the death of another
Require ALL subjects declared mentally ill to have that listed on their background check so they can never buy a gun
Ban all private sales of guns. Must go through licensed gun dealers so a background check must be done

That's my proposal. Notice there is no ban on assault weapons or high cap mags. You right wingers are just too brainwashed to have a discussion on this issue.

All mental illnesses? How would you define it so as to be reasonable? And private gun sales would be hard to regulate. Would you search a residence frequently to check and make sure they have all the guns they are supposed to have? Unconstitutional searching right there.

That's for doctors to decide, not me.

If a person is caught with a gun, or commits a crime with one, that is not theirs, and it is discovered that the gun was SOLD unlawfully, then the original owner is charged, harshly. The law would also have a clause requiring any stolen gun to be reported within 24 hours or upon noticing the gun is stolen. OF course, juries would determine a lot. So, if a gun is used in a crime, and the original owner says "Oh it got stolen today" or "It got stolen 6 months ago" the cops would investigate each claim like any other to see if there is evidence that the gun was in fact stolen....or, if it is at all possible that the owner has been unable to notice it for 6 months.
