I can see working without pay for a few days while Congress settles a funding bill.
But workers have been showing up for work without pay for over a month and now Congress is leaving for a two week Easter recess.

If I worked for TSA, that would be the last straw.
Working for two more weeks without pay because Congress wants to go home.
Workers should all refuse to show up as soon as Congress goes into recess.
Shut down ALL Airports until Congress does its job

This is the third time.

Democrats need to stop doing this because not only will we lose TSA agents, we will lose the best and most qualified since they can easily find jobs elsewhere.

The slugs who would be unemployable if not for federal jobs will stay.

Dems want to maximize suffering for TSA workers and air travelers.

This will not end well for them.

Partisan politics like this is why we are still at an impasse

We cannot use our employees as political pawns while Congress bickers

This pisses me off, I have to fly back in 2 weeks and I hope there are not 4-6 hour lines waiting for me.

Democrats have either the worst messaging, or the most unpopular solutions, to every problem they encounter in government. They lack leadership.

I wouldn’t show up for work either

Who the hell works without getting paid?

“Essential” or “expected” employee my ass. No pay, no work.

Last I heard the Senate will remain in session through the Easter recess or until the dems stop their shutdown.

The House already did it's job so they can go into recess.

They will all get back pay, they are not working for free. If they didn't get back pay they would/should all quit.

This political gamesmanship is so retarded, we are paying a bunch of flunky, newly hired ICE recruits, while not paying essential workers to our economy and our well being.

Head of the TSA (or someone speaking for the TSA who works there) said yesterday that ICE is just getting in the way now at airports. He said this is what the agents are saying.

I got bills to pay. I wouldn’t wait. I’d quit, get a new job that pays on time and better damn well still get my back pay eventually for the time I worked

Talk about a convoluted way of asking questions to get the Dems some positive out of this. And your spin topped on it is even more dishonest (not surprising, coming from you)

The CBS News-YouGov poll showed 31% of Americans said that Democrats’ position was worth having a partial shutdown, while 36% said it was not worth it (the rest were not sure). That’s a negative five-point gap.

But Americans were even less favorable when asked about Republicans holding their hard line against those changes. While 23% said the GOP’s position was worth having the partial shutdown, 42% said it was not.

They didn't ask "who is right about passing the funding bills" because they probably did ask before and didn't like the answer to that phrased question.

Congress cuts the line

I had read where airlines said they weren't going to grant Congress any special privileges. We will see.

I can also see a real mess if one is caught by the people cutting the line.

15th post
Hopefully they have to fly home.
….and without the special privilege of being jumped to the front of the line, as they usually are. Make them wait 4 hours like the people they’re forcing to do it.

P.S. First time we’ve agreed on anything. A snowball must be doing well in hell today!

I will believe it when I see it. PLus you need the House to pass something.

The House passed a bill but it's highly unlikely to be what gets through. As a Senator there is no way I'm staying if the House doesn't in case they are needed to vote on a different bill.
