Yes, even though this is nothing but window dressing and has no real teeth in it, I suppose it's a good thing that Beijing Biden is actually attempting to APPEAR like he respects U.S. sovereignty.

He should apply the same window dressing to the southern border.

You're spot-on about how appearances matter, even though in a perfect world there would be no need for these word games. Political leaders know full well they are playing this game and the prize is a favorable public opinion. Even China cares about that it seems which is a bit surprising to me...but admitedly I'm still learning.

It's not a stupid question. I'm trying to see if you're consistent. A lot of people voice objections to sanctions but still make exceptions.
