Let's keep in mind what Comey allegedly did, according to the Grand Jury.

The indictment, filed in federal court in the eastern district of Virginia, shows grand jurors charged Comey was charged with obstructing “a congressional investigation into the disclosure of sensitive information” and making a false statement to the FBI when he said he did not authorize someone at the agency to be an anonymous source. Prosecutors sought a third charge against Comey, but grand jurors rejected the request, court documents show.

So, this Grand Jury was no rubber stamp. As Grand Juries are supposed to be, it is a group of voting citizens, who were called and agreed to serve for months as guardrails to keep over-zealous prosecutors from prosecuting people without good cause.

They found good cause in two of the three charges that the career prosecutors at the DOJ asked for AND presented evidence for.

Since the charge is obstruction and not perjury, I assume Comey was not under oath when he allegedly told the lies.

Does any Democrat or "not Democrat" on here think it should not be a crime to lie to congress during an official proceding, so long as the liar is not under oath?
