Comey Indicted

Let me repeat myself:
In the annals of corrupt federal government officials, few can rival Comey for arrogance and playing politics. He's a loathsome human being. I hope he still gets his comeuppance in the legal system. They may not be done yet if conspiracy charges come down the pike.

The entire RussiaGate affair was a hoax, a lie. And Comey as well as others conspired to keep it alive.
There's Big Trouble there.
You mean the hoax that resulted in 7 convictions and guilty pleas, that hoax?

This well past the point that Comey was even part of the investigation.

What started it was someone on the Trump campaign bragging to an Australian diplomat that the campaign was working with the Russians. And what kept it alive was Trump himself going in front of a camera and flat out admitting he fired am FBI director because he didn't want to drop it.

Those are the facts and are simply undeniable.

Thrown out. Tossed. And now the statute of limitations ran out. Too bad because he was guilty. I can admit that now.

Not quite.

See 18 U.S.C. § 3288.

Whenever an indictment or information charging a felony is dismissed for any reason after the period prescribed by the applicable statute of limitations has expired, a new indictment may be returned in the appropriate jurisdiction within six calendar months of the date of the dismissal of the indictment or information, or, in the event of an appeal, within 60 days of the date the dismissal of the indictment or information becomes final, or, if no regular grand jury is in session in the appropriate jurisdiction when the indictment or information is dismissed, within six calendar months of the date when the next regular grand jury is convened, which new indictment shall not be barred by any statute of limitations. This section does not permit the filing of a new indictment or information where the reason for the dismissal was the failure to file the indictment or information within the period prescribed by the applicable statute of limitations, or some other reason that would bar a new prosecution.

Interesting. I heard this morning that the statute of limitation was up and they couldn't be tried again.

Did you know that they were about to throw out both cases because of “vindictive prosecution” but then this came up and they tossed the case

U.S. District Judge Cameron Currie concluded that Halligan’s appointment by Attorney General Pam Bondi to lead the federal prosecutors’ office in the Eastern District of Virginia was illegal. And because Halligan was the only prosecutor to sign off on the Comey and James prosecutions, Currie ruled that the cases must be dismissed.

Then the bimbo didn't present the evidence to the entire grand jury? An admission that had jaws hit the floor in court. Trust me, Trump is getting zero prosecutions of anyone he perceives as an enemy. He just might make their lives hell going after them.

Comey and James claimed they were targeted by Halligan — Trump’s former personal lawyer — to carry out Trump’s personal vendetta against them.

Judges in each case were weighing those “vindictive prosecution” concerns before Currie shut down the cases Monday over Halligan’s legitimacy.

Currie’s dismissal of the case, however, may have triggered a law that provides a six-month period for the Justice Department to try again, even after the statute of limitations expired. But it’s murky.

a. They won't try him again.

b. They should have never in the first place.
c. Remember the real lawyer said there was no case. Just because Trump found a bimbo who would take the case does not mean there is a case.

Taregted? Everyone who gets indicted has been targeted by the prosecution.

Comey clearly lied to Congress. They will re-indict him, as they should.

You still clinging to hope that you are going to get a prosecution here? You guys aren't very good at this. You see a weak case and think it's strong. You think Trump's not going to get convicted and he gets convicted on 34 ******* counts!

Comey lied to Congress, it is quite clear that he did.

No one I know of on this board doubted that a Manhattan jury, a massive Democrat stronghold, would convict Trump on 34 trumped-up charges, with a judge hell-bent on aiding the prosecution at every step.

Nope. And producing a contradictory statement from another person is not going to win that case. And they know it.

It's theater for morons.
You're the moron for buying into the lie that Comey didn't lie to Congress.

Democrat minions rejoice that a corrupt leader, former head of our most powerful intelligence agency, is about to skate on a technicality.

Well, I've heard the judge is another democrat. I've also heard that the case was dismissed because the prosecutor was chosen illegally, much as in at least one of Trump's cases, so why wasn't Trump's case dismissed? Why can't they just replace the prosecutor and move forward with the case?

I also heard that the DOJ made a mistake under pressure to get many people prosecuted ASAP. So many GOPers were screaming about when all these people from Biden to Pelosi to Hillary to Brennan would get their time in court!

Lessons learned: better to take the time and make sure every t is crossed and every i dotted. I'm not sure whether they can reopen this case or not against Comey. I've heard some say there is no evidence against Comey which is just ridiculous--- if the DOJ cannot find anything criminal that Comey did, I don't think much of the DOJ.

Seems that every time it comes down to actually prosecuting someone important for anything BIG, the justice system falls on its face. But these same people managed to bend over backwards contorting the law garishly trying to get Trump. Offhand, that suggests to me that all of the judges and lawyers are all crooks.

I don't think he did. Prove it in a court of law. If you can't, that's a problem.

No sorry but Trump's laywer gets to pick half the jury.

And don't forget that the NYC vote for mayor was split 50/50. Mamdani got 55% and those two Republicans assholes combined got around 45%. So lots of Republican assholes in NY.

Don't you remember Trump was running around NY saying how much people loved him? He went to that fast food joint remember? He said they loved him. Now you want to say he can't get a fair trial in NY? LOL Sorry you can't have it both ways.

15th post
And you fascists always forget that the courts have a higher standard. That's why you want to get rid of them, though.
"Fascists"??
No, numbnuts, you guys are the fascists: goose-stepping goons constantly trying to intimidate, beat, punch, slap, burn, key, scratch your political enemies.
It's not even close.
Go take your Antifa goons and shove 'em.

Cuomo is a Democrat and ran as an Independent. Sliwa was the Republican nominee and got 7.1% of the vote.

LOL

A Manhattan jury that was basically picked by the judge with his heavy hand on all the proceedings.

"Fascists"??
Correct, and you are being trained like good little.doggies to hate the Justice system, because your pet rapist can't seem to stop running afoul of it.

See.toobfreak's post above for a salient example.
