I have looked on many old maps; there was only one Jewish settlement east of gaza in 1948

No Jews at all on the coast south of Tel Aviv

Historically this coast was Philistine territory and the northern coast was Phoenician.

Only very few Jews on the coast, ever

Jews were SETTLED inland in Galillee, West Bank, Hebron, Jerusalem.

The whole coast was never ever majority Jewish until the 20th century.
