From 135 yards, prone firing with a scope and a clean line of sight on a stationary target? No it wouldn't. That's less than a 1/4 of the weapons effective range and less than 5% of its max range.

The police sniper that head shoted Thomas in a single round did so from farther away that Thomas missed a kill shot Trump with 6 to 8 shots.

Hitting the ear wouldn't be a particularly hard shot to make for an experienced shooter with that weapon, in those conditions, at that close range. Its entirely possible to intentionally miss and hit the ear instead.

Thomas being a bad shot is simpler, and more likely. But intentionally hitting the ear rather than killing Trump is entirely possible....if Thomas, a member of the Clairton Sportsmen's shooting club, was an experienced shooter.

There's no reason an experienced shooter would miss a kill shot from 135 yards (less than a quarter the effective range of the weapon used), fired with a scope from prone position with a clean line of sight on a stationary target.......in 6 to 8 attempts.

So, my explanation is one of two things. Either Thomas wasn't an experienced shooter. Or he missed on purpose. With the former being simpler and far more likely.

As for the motivations, dunno. There's no enough evidence. Notoriety maybe? We know his name. We're talking about him.

So.....there's zero evidence that was Thomas Matthew Crook. Alex Jones just said it was. Alex Jones routinely makes shit up, backed by nothing.

In was actually a video from 2020, from Arizona State in Tempe. Crook would have been 17 and going to highschool in Pennsylvania. A nation's width away.

There's no evidence the video was Crook. Or that Crook has ever been to Arizona, let alone Tempe. Let alone when he was in highschool in the middle of a school year.

Crabtree also reported that there were a large number of supplemental agents from different field offices providing security at Trump’s rally because his regular detail had been “overworked.” His rally featured only two counter-snipers.

Personally, I have a hard time attributing this to incompetence. This was planned.
if proven to be true, comes as the Secret Service is facing continued scrutiny for the series of events that led to the near-fatal assassination attempt.
The more we learn, the more this wasn't just a coincidence. More its clearly a planned planned operation.

You may want to look into that more specifically than generally. A lot of people get help from psychiatric medication. About 65 million Americans use them regularly.
