CNN (June 11th): No criminal charges expected against Clinton in email probe

Here, stupid dupe. Your party is a lying disgrace.
I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby (born August 22, 1950; first name generally given as Irv, Irve or Irving)[1] is an American former lawyer, former Democrat, a prominent Republican[2] and former adviser to Vice President Dick Cheney.

From 2001 to 2005, Libby held the offices of Assistant to the Vice President for National Security Affairs and Chief of Staff to the Vice President of the United States[3] and Assistant to the President during the administration of PresidentGeorge W. Bush.

In October 2005, Libby was indicted by a federal grand jury concerning the investigation of the leak of the covert identity of Central Intelligence Agency officer Valerie Plame Wilson.[4][5][6] Plame's position at the CIA was consideredclassified information.[4] Libby was indicted on five counts relating to the Plame affair: Two counts of perjury, two counts of making false statements to federal investigators, and one count of obstruction of justice. Libby resigned all three government positions immediately after the indictment was announced.[7]

In the subsequent federal trial, United States v. Libby, the jury convicted Libby on four of the five counts in the indictment (one count of obstruction of justice, two counts of perjury, and one count of making false statements) andacquitted on the second count of making false statements.[8][9] The day after his conviction in that trial, he resigned his later appointment as senior advisor at the Hudson Institute (January 1, 2006 – March 7, 2007).[10][11]

Libby is the highest-ranking White House official convicted in a government scandal since John Poindexter, the national security adviser to President Ronald Reagan in the Iran–Contra affair (Poindexter's convictions were subsequently reversed on appeal in 1991).[12]

Libby was not convicted of outing Valerie Plame! Your cited article tries to paint that picture but Libby was convicted of giving false statements to a Federal officer investigating the Plame affair.

To this day NOBODY has ever been charged or convicted of outing Valerie Plame...BECAUSE NOBODY DID OUT HER EXCEPT FOR HERSELF AND HER HUBBY!!!

Libby fell on the knife for DICK. Everyone knows that.

Libby got railroaded because they couldn't get DICK! Anyone with a clue knows that!
Libby was charged with perjury because he lied while giving sworn testimony. He was charged with obstruction of justice because he obstructed the investigation.

As I said before, Libby was never charged nor convicted of "outing" Valerie Plame! Nobody has been. Why? Because nobody except Joe Wilson and Valerie Plame "outed" Valerie Plame...that's why!
Everyone in the neighborhood knew Plame worked at the CIA.
All she ever was was a ******* pencil pusher secretary.
Wilson attempted to make multi-millions in a lawsuit against the US Government. The US Government had a quite little talk with Wilson one afternoon and the next day Wilson withdrew the lawsuit.
Go figure.
The CIA had/has shit on Wilson that if ever made public he'd spend the rest of his life in a federal prison.
Notice no one has ever heard a peep from Plame or Wilson since.

I notice that you don't want to attribute your cites, Faun. Afraid they won't hold up to scrutiny? Like your charge that Valerie Plame was "outed"?

I have more proof that they weren't than you do that they were.

Show me proof that it was hacked, with an article dated before the knowledge of the existence of her private server.

The contractor, SECNAP Network Security identified the attacks, but according to internal emails cited and briefly quoted in the Johnson letter, Clinton's sever may have lacked a threat-detection program for three months, Johnson says.

The Associated Press first reported the news.

The attempted security breaches and apparent gaps in protection raise further questions about the level of security Clinton used to prevent malicious intrusions from breaching her network. The FBI is currently probing whether her rare email arrangement at State — exclusively using her own personal server rather than a State.gov account — ever put national security at risk. The State Department has now classified more than 400 Clinton emails that were stored on that hardware, though Clinton's team notes they were not marked classified at the time.

Clinton server faced hacking from China, South Korea and German

So if Mrs. Clinton's own personal server lacked any security measures to even DETECT when it's been hacked into, how can anyone make the determination that the information that was contained there was not compromisedand hacked into? At least those government servers to which she was advised she SHOULD be using, had more adequate means to protect classified information.

It comes down to a willingness to not recognize the seriousness of having classified information protected, a willful choice to refuse government security measures provided to her, and withholding information from an internal investigation with the deletion of over 30,000 emails. The combination of these, especially the handling of classified information, is why the FBI is continuing its investigation and the IG has found there to be a serious need to do so through its official report and findings.
I love how rightards feign concern over national security when they think it was a Democrat who may have compromised it.
thumbsup.gif

Being prior military, I'm very familiar with the policies and the seriousness surrounding the government's handling of top secret information. I don't think it's an area that needs to be taken lightly and everyone should show some respect for their position when placed with the handling of sensitive information, no matter their authority or rank. That being said, name a republican that has refused to use a government server when it was advised by their department to do so in handling classified information.
That's hysterical when you consider how the right cheered over the outing of a covert CIA agent during wartime.

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Thanks for the levity.

I don't approve the outing of a CIA agent while she is still employed by the agency. Rather her supervisors should have had Mrs. Wilson's clearances revoked for allocating resources that compromised her position which is in conflict of national interest. Then Mrs. Wilson should have been demoted of her position, perhaps as an assistant to a government intern that is seeking college credits towards THEIR advancing career in government

National security is not a place to conduct your own personal public inquiries for your own political reasons, those who understand the efforts required to obtain such "privileges" and responsibility understand that. For those who never been associated with working for government, when you accept the responsibility to handle classified information you are first made to sign a government agreement. This agreement states that as a consequence of your newly obtained position, any information you have obtained knowledge of remains OUT of public view. You either have respect for your position or you lose it.

So congratulations, you just named two individuals that have no respect for national security, Mrs Wilson and Mrs Clinton. Care to add any more names to the list?

Bad news for the fake-scandal peddlers, butthurt Bernie supporters and right-wing nuts from CNN in an article today (June 11th, 2016:

The FBI has not yet interviewed Clinton as part of its investigation. As CNN first reported, investigators have not found evidence to support criminal charges against Clinton and none are expected, but no final determination will be made until that interview has taken place.

FBI investigating drone emails as part of Clinton server probe - CNNPolitics.com
The FBI will find there was no classified information leaked and that rules and regulations were broken but no crime was committed
Hillary will be criticized in the report for using a private server and she will apologize and say she will never do it again
She is not the first Secretary of State to do this, just the only one they have made an issue about. It is purely politics in an attempt to keep her out of the White House. You can see how so many of the idiots around here fall for it.

What's amusing is that even years after that liberal talking point was totally discredited...you're STILL trying to use it!

If Valerie Plame had actually been a "covert" CIA officer at the time that she outed herself by publishing that letter in the New York Times then someone would have been charged with that crime! Nobody ever was. Not by Fitzgerald and not by any other prosecutor.

You can't explain THAT though...can you? No, you just state that it's fact and that I'm a "liar" because I won't go along with your little fantasy!

Your "proof" is apparently that it was reported? All that proves is that the Main Stream Media initially went along with Joe Wilson and Valerie Plame's BULLSHIT! The real liar in the Valerie Plame debacle was Joe Wilson. Funny how that didn't get "reported"!
DO you ever stop lying, ya con tool? Ever?

It wasn't just "reported."

It was thoroughly investigated.

Now stop lying.

It was reported...then it was thoroughly investigated...and then no charges of outing a covert agent were ever brought against anyone!

Stop shoveling your bullshit, Faun...it didn't stick to the side of the barn back then and it won't now.
Do you ever stop lying, ya con tool? Ever?

The investigation confirmed the reports that a covert CIA agent was outed.

Now stop lying.

The lie is that a covert agent was outed. Valerie Plame hadn't been a covert agent for years. Her husband was introducing her at Washington DC cocktail parties as his wife that works for the CIA! Did you want to put Joe Wilson in prison?
Do you ever stop lying, ya con tool? Ever???

Again, from the man who investigated the issue...
"At the time of the initial unauthorized disclosure in the media of Ms. Wilson's employment relationship with the CIA on 14 July 2003, Ms. Wilson was a covert CIA employee for whom the CIA was taking affirmative measures to conceal her intelligence relationship to the United States."
Now stop lying.

You rightards are like cockroach infested garbage. Spray one with Raid and another scurries out.

No, her neighbors did not know she was a covert CIA operative...
"Valerie Wilson was a CIA officer. In July 2003, the fact that Valerie Wilson was a CIA officer was classified. Not only was it classified, but it was not widely known outside the intelligence community. Valerie Wilson's friends, neighbors, college classmates had no idea she had another life." - Patrick Fitzgerald, lead investigator

FITZGERALD SAYS PLAME WAS A COVERT AGENT

In new court filings, special counsel Patrick Fitzgerald has finally resolved one of the most disputed issues at the core of the long-running CIA leak controversy: Valerie Plame Wilson, he asserts, was a "covert" CIA officer who repeatedly traveled overseas using a "cover identity" in order to disguise her relationship with the agency.

[...]

"She traveled at least seven times to more than 10 countries," the document states. "When traveling overseas, Ms. Wilson always traveled under a cover identity … At the time of the initial unauthorized disclosure in the media of Ms. Wilson's employment relationship with the CIA on 14 July 2003, Ms. Wilson was a covert CIA employee for whom the CIA was taking affirmative measures to conceal her intelligence relationship to the United States."

Aww. You poor demented rightard. It's so adorable how you try to fool yourself.

Trump has no chance. Aside from pissin' off women, blacks, and Hispanics (3 significant voting blocs), his party is a divided pile of hot mess in disarray. And don't be surprised if Romney, or some other GOPer, runs against him as an Independent; just to make sure he gets utterly destroyed.

Agreed...Mitt is waiting until Donnie's numbers are so bad that the contested GOP seats are in danger and he will then ride his white steed into the race. Electing Donnie as Commander in Chief would ring the death bell for the Republican Party. Mitt knows that.

"The five-count indictment of Libby included perjury (two counts), obstruction of justice (one count), and making false statements to federal investigators (two counts). "On July 13, 2006, Joseph and Valerie Wilson filed a civil lawsuit against Rove, Libby, Vice President Dick Cheney, and other unnamed senior White House officials (to whom they later added Richard Armitage)[46] for their alleged role in the public disclosure of Valerie Wilson's classified CIA status.[47] Judge John D. Bates dismissed the Wilsons' lawsuit on jurisdictional grounds on July 19, 2007;[48][49][50][51] the Wilsons appealed. On August 12, 2008, in a 2-1 decision, the three-judge panel of the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit upheld the dismissal.[52][53] Melanie Sloan, of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, which represents the Wilsons, "said the group will request the full D.C. Circuit to review the case and appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court."[52][54] Agreeing with the Bush administration, the Obama Justice Department argues the Wilsons have no legitimate grounds to sue. On the current justice department position, Sloan stated: "We are deeply disappointed that the Obama administration has failed to recognize the grievous harm top Bush White House officials inflicted on Joe and Valerie Wilson. The government’s position cannot be reconciled with President Obama’s oft-stated commitment to once again make government officials accountable for their actions."[55]

Judge tosses out ex-spy's lawsuit against Cheney in CIA leak case

U.S. District Judge John Bates said the lawsuit raises "important questions relating to the propriety of actions undertaken by our highest government officials." But in a 41-page decision, he found Plame and her husband, former U.S. Ambassador Joseph Wilson, failed to show the case belongs in federal court.

Since you're too ignorant to understand that, I'll explain it to ya ... the case was not thrown out because they couldn't prove their complaint, as you lied about -- it was thrown out for procedural reasons. Don't you ever get tired of losing?

On appeal, the court affirmed the lower court and dismissed their complaint; again, not due to lack of merit but because of procedural failures on the Wilson's part.
CONCLUSION

Because the Wilsons have failed to state constitutional Bivens claims for which relief may be granted and have failed to exhaust their administrative remedies as required to pursue a tort claim against the United States, we affirm the judgment of the district court dismissing the Wilsons’ amended complaint in its entirety.

Here again, Plame did not lose the case because she wasn't a covert CIA, she was one until Novak's article was released; nor because she wasn't harmed. You're so dedicated to being a lying con tool, that you desperately try every angle you can make up out of whole cloth just to deny that reality.

How do you sleep at night knowing you hate your own country so much, that you're willing and eager to defend the outing of a covert CIA agent?

Now go back to licking your wounds and stop lying.

Dude, the Wilson's couldn't even get the Obama Justice Department to bring charges against someone for supposedly "outing" poor Valerie! Their civil suit...where proof needed to win is much less than a criminal case...went nowhere.

It's another liberal "myth" that Valerie Plame was a covert CIA agent when the Bush White House called her and her husband out on the truthfulness of their op-ed piece in the New York Times.

I'm curious, Faun...do you think it's standard CIA policy for their "covert agents" to be introduced at cocktail parties by their significant others as someone who works at the CIA? Do you think it's standard CIA policy for "covert agents" to publish op-ed pieces in one of the largest newspapers in the world? Valerie Plame seems to have only been a covert agent when she thought it might help with their civil suit. Other than that, her and her hubby seemed more than willing to "out" her themselves!

As for your claim that I hate my country because I don't think Plame was a covert CIA agent? It's amusing how outing Plame somehow is this terrible crime against US national security (why that is...I have no idea!) but Hillary Clinton using an unsecured personal server to transmit sensitive State Department information is not a problem! Who do you think potentially could cause more damage to US security interests...a low level CIA desk jockey...or a sitting Secretary of State?

Dude, the Wilson's couldn't even get the Obama Justice Department to bring charges against someone for supposedly "outing" poor Valerie! Their civil suit...where proof needed to win is much less than a criminal case...went nowhere.

Criminal charges were not brought against Armitage because he didn't "knowingly" out her. A key component of the law. Their civil suit failed due to a lack of jurisdiction, not lack of merit. And again, the lead investigator determined she was a covert CIA agent. Exactly how stupid do you want people to think you are by denying any of that when it's been shown to you?

As far as Wilson introducing her as a covert agent at cocktail parties, that was hearsay which was never confirmed. Claims were made that an unnamed individual heard him say that; but no one ever made such a claim first hand.

Now stop lying.

I notice that you don't want to attribute your cites, Faun. Afraid they won't hold up to scrutiny? Like your charge that Valerie Plame was "outed"?
You wish.

"The five-count indictment of Libby included perjury (two counts), obstruction of justice (one count), and making false statements to federal investigators (two counts). There was, however, no count for disclosing classified information, i.e., Plame's status as a CIA operative. Indeed, it was already widely known (even by prosecutor Fitzgerald) that the actual "leaker" was Richard Armitage, via columnist Robert Novak. No evidence has ever come to light that Mr. Libby disclosed Plame's CIA status to Mr. Novak." Wikipedia

On June 21, 2009, the U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear the appeal.[56]"

The Wilson's couldn't even get the Obama Justice Department to recognize that they were "harmed". Can you say GAME OVER!
There is something seriously wrong with you. You have one enormously defective brain. Forget the fact that you're trying to counter my news articles with wikipedia :eusa_doh:

.... you can't even get the facts right because you're such a psychotically deranged con tool. The first judge ruled the couldn't sue on the technical grounds that they filed suit in the wrong jurisdiction...

When do you stop lying, ya con tool? Ever??

Prove her server was unsecure.... oh, wait... you can't. You already admitted you have no ******* clue about what security was loaded onto it.

And there's no evidence Hillary's server was ever hacked. Valerie Plame was outed as a covert CIA operative when Novak's article was published.

Now stop lying.

I say apparently only because it's being reported that no charges are likely coming; but the FBI hasn't formally concluded their investigation yet.

Ah yes, you're the type that believes everything the media tells you. How does it feel to be led along on a leash, Faun?

It must be nice to claim not to trust the media.
You can then just ignore or write off any report you don't want to hear. The media is correct more than wrong. You're just wrong most of the time.
