This entire thing is being completely misinterpreted.

An 80 year old guy did not want his girl friend flashing around pictures of younger, more studly men, and did not want her to invite such men to his games. This is far less a race issue than it is one of an old man being jealous of his girlfriend's relationships with younger men, and not wanting her to rub his face in it.

I bet he would have felt the same way if the younger men were white. The black aspect likely inflamed him more (his attitudes on race are repugnant), but they are an appendage to the main male vs. male thing.

Evidently you did not listen to the audio. It was definitely about race. His whole thing was basically "thats just the way the world is".

You're entitled to your opinion, but I think Larry Johnson saying we should start a black league is a gross overreaction to the situation and is racist. If Bird would've said lets start a white NBA that would be racist too IMO.

It was a call for Black people controlling the product they bring to the table. it was not racist. It was a smart business principle he has advocated for a while.
