Clippers Owner Donald Sterling Tells Girlfriend: Don’t Bring Black People

It isn't a bad sort of racism, but it qualifies under the definition of racism. Perhaps we should come up with a new 'ism to toss at people we disagree with since it's too loosely defined?

I was taught that racism inherently has a negative connotation to it. Being self aware and teaching people that share that same experience to be self aware is far from being negative.
Fair enough I guess. Do you know who is the most likely originator of the word racist...shouldn't surprise you if you don't to find out who it is.

The french have a word for it but I forgot what it is.

Edit..

1935 racisme

Donald Sterling???????? LOL... This racist idiot is a big democrat contributor and everyone in LA has known how out of it! this crude human has been for years but because he gives big bucks to the Dems he has flown under the radar. Another example of the way the Dems and the media work together. Fox news had a story on this guy years ago but it went nowhere. In fact he was to receive an award with Al Sharpton today.
He's actually a registered Republican...

Actually Donald Sterling is a Republican
Donald Sterling is a Republican and has given money to Democrats. His politics don?t matter.

Donald Sterling is an all out racist.

The NBA Commissioner cannot punish Sterling because he is an owner, who is his boss, however the other owners can and should do something to get him out of the league.

This is not even Sterling at his worst, look at his treatment of Elgin Baylor, the history with him and Sterling were worse and then you have this Largest Housing Discrimination In US History

What hurts Sterling is losing money, so the NBA could release all the staff and players from their NBA contracts and allow them to be free agents, this would hurt the value of the team, allow players to get away from an asshole, this could plummet the value of the team and he would sell. The owners could suspend him indefinitely and not allow him to oversee his team's day to day operations, which could cost the team.

If he remains an owner it is doubtful he could attract anyone with any kind of talent and plummet this team back to the worst franchise in all of pro sports.

It's the owners that have to punish, no boycotts, no complaints from any race, nothing but hitting him in the pocketbook will hurt him.

Whatever is done, Sterling will tie it up in the courts for years, he is extremely litigious.
Well...he's a former trial lawyer.

Leon Bronstein, aka Leon Trotsky. Atleast according to Oxford English dictionary and many other sources. It's debatable though, I suppose.

A trial lawyer? Then he was and always will be a Democrat. That is their biggest funders next to Unions.

Yeah, and he uses it when he fires a coach or anyone under contract. They sue and he buries them in paperwork and then they settle for pennies, otherwise it stays in the courts for years. The guy is scum, Larry King spoke on The Herd this morning and he is not well liked.

What is sad, is today Jack Ramsey passed away, Dr. Jack was a kind and helpful coach, mentor and broadcaster and instead of remember a remarkable man, we discuss Sterling, the asshole.

I thought you wrote racism. My bad.

A commie coming up with the word kind of explains to me why it is so loosely defined & easy to give it both negative and positive connotations. Commies never think through much of anything they promote.

He has every right to be an ignorant racist slime bucket and I would fight for that. But, just like other slime in our society (Limbaugh types), real human beings have the right to shun him. This jackass did this to himself and now gets to pay the price.

As usual, I notice that certain rw's are on the wrong side of this issue.

By proving you don't know the meaning of "commie" and constantly misusing it, you silly twerps have taken all the power away from the word "Communism". Its really stupid.

This is not a defense of Sterling but as I have listened to all the outrage justified I might add over Sterling's comments I can't help but wonder how many of us can honestly say in private or what we think to be private conversations we have not said something racist or that other's would consider racist. If we are honest I suspect few if any of us could say we haven't unlike Sterling ours just weren't made public.

Dickwads like Charles Barkley have said much worse in public, much less in private.

Doesn't begin to compare with this guy's long history as a racist slumlord and his foul mouth.

Didn't Sterling have to pay the biggest fine in history for his slum rentals?

Any racists reading this - Have no fear. He'll walk away from this with just another fine which won't make a dent in the money blacks have made for him.

He gives bucks for cover and has received cover from the media in LA for years. I guarantee you that if his dollars went to Prop 8 or other right wing causes he would have been toast a long time ago...and he should have been but your bud's liked his bling too much. Shame on the LA liberals and their greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed.

Paula Deen said something like that too.

Right after she called someone the N word and said she wanted a 'slave' look to her restaurant.

Her fellow racist brother just closed his restaurant for lack of business.

Seems like what goes around comes around.
