Climate Alarmist, PhD Physicist David Appell Fails Freshman Physics… Misunderstands Climate-Critical Evaporation
By P Gosselin on 1. July 2020

Excerpt:

A comment by PhD physicist David Appell, a contributing writer to Scientific American and Nature, shows he does not understand the fundamental climate-driving mechanism of water evaporation in a recent comment.

Many readers are familiar with climate alarm dogmatist David Appell. He sometimes goes off on comment tirades here at NTZ, getting huffed up.

Though a large part of his dogma-filled comments fail to meet editorial standards, and so don’t get published, some have merit and are welcome.

Doesn’t understand evaporation

Now watch the warmist/alarmists make a fool of themselves over this article......, they will believe in his stupid statement, despite that it is OBVIOUSLY wrong.

I used to Mock David A. about his PHD being his back pocket all the time, he is so loopy that he gets banned in many places over time.

Here is one of the few places this fool can still post in, here is a truly stupid comment he makes:

Since when did you people start caring about birds?
Fu*king hypocrites, every last one of you.

Chappell said heat dries things out. He's right. All non-morons know that. All other things being equal, a hotter area sees more evaporation. Sure, relative humidity matters, but relative humidity goes down as temperature goes up.

Obviously, Chappell was simplifying things in that little quip. Only liars or morons will deny that. Thus, NoTricksZone and tommy are denying it.

Tommy, why are you pushing the absurd statement that more heat doesn't lead to more evaporation, and then screaming hysterically at anyone possessing common sense?

Most alarmists fail to understand that LWIR only affects the first ten microns in water as the evaporative zones trap 100% of it. the rest is accademic from that point on .

Would it have killed you to post the offending comment? ...

warmer temperatures lead to droughts because they increase evap rates

Yeah, he has cause-and-effect mixed up ... drought leads to warmer temperatures, not the other way around ... the physics of solutions is of course physics, but physicists rarely need this information and it's not general taught in physics classes ... it's in chemistry where the physics of solutions is of vital importance, thus we find this information taught in chemistry classes ... meteorology is such a specialized subject one really can't expect physicists, chemists or biologists to have any depth of understanding ... geology deals quite a bit with gradients and stress and that field might provide a better fundamental understanding of things atmospheric ... and of course astronomy and fluid mechanics covers all this material quite well ...

Simply stated ... a "saturated" state only means that equal masses of water is being evaporated as is being condensed ... evaporation is on going if there's water to be evaporated ... but as Mammory points out, over land the available water on the surface is in very short supply ... out over the oceans, the layer of air just above the surface is always 100% RH ... the equilibrium state ...

Stupid people think having a PhD means the persons know everything ... when in truth it just means they know the most about one thing ...
